Old, worn down, dirty, and broken. Hours are being further reduced, which is a huge pain. Pennbriar needs some serious upkeep and modernization, but it doesn't seem like the ownership cares. I do not recommend Pennbriar, but at least the staff is nice.

Apparently you cant use a day pass anymore for the pool and are required to have a membership for it. I dont use pools often due to my busy work schedule and refuse to pay such an outlandish amount just to use the pool. But based on the other reviews it explains why they told me they made the decision on removing pool privileges for day passes as a "liability issue"... make me wonder whats so concerning about the pool

Went there and watched my friend play and it was a really big area, just wish there was a bit more seating, I went there and people just take up the benches, I asked if I could sit down next to them and they said no.

Do not ever make the decision of signing a year contract with this place. They do not reinvest their money into fixing the place. There’s mold, leaks, old equipment, and bacteria. One of the sinks spewed brown water into my bottle last time I was there.Steam room is closed or broken half the time. Pool on the same page. Only redeeming quality is the gym and even that is not worth the membership. Do the world a favor and let capitalism take care of this place so they can shut down from lack of membership.Gotta hand it to them for being smart enough to lock their patrons into a years contract because after the first month they realize they made a mistake. Go to Fitness U. Go to Planet. This place is past it’s time. It used to be a respectable place when I was little but quickly turned into what it is now.

3/10/23 Female referee swearing at players and around children who are on the sideline. Changing rules during the game. No control or knowledge of soccer. Big guy who helps run league has no control. Ref causes a brawl between two teammates and continues dropping F bombs and swearing herself. Game gets cancelled during the second half. I will not have my sponsors pay money for teams here anymore. We pay thousands of dollars a year for teams to play and have uniforms. Super unprofessional. Will be playing elsewhere. Roof leaking and unsafe field conditions as well.

Great facility

terribly worn down facility that does not perform upkeep on any gym equipment or maintenance on the facility. the roof recently fell through, ceiling tiles are covered in mold. free weight equipment is broken, and when presenting all of these issues they reply with a response we don't have money to fix it sorry, but you're still in a contract so you cannot leave and will continue to pay every month or be sent to collections. It is also very expensive compared to other gyms in the area. The gym members do not have "gym etiquette" i.e. no one puts anything back where they got it and expect the next person to do it for them.

This place has lots of equipment, I will give them that.. but the building is literally falling apart. There was a dead toad in the women’s locker room. There’s no restrooms in the locker room either.. well, there is but they are blocked off and can’t be used. Some of the staff is super friendly and helpful, others not so much. They have a large mixture of equipment, some newish, some probably as old as the building, but no rhyme or reason as to the placement of things. It’s definitely not the cleanliest of gyms either. A membership for someone 26-30 is $38/month and you have to be signed up for a year. They do have a pool and saunas in the locker rooms. If you don’t care about cost or hygiene and strictly just your workout, then it’ll get the job done.

Been a member here for almost 2 years. This establishment does not put any effort into maintenance of equipment or the facility itself. The free weight section has been overlooked since starting here. 90% of the dumbells are bent and loose. It's up to it's members to tighten them so they don't fall apart as you use them. There are only 2 bars thay are not bent. The padding on the leg presses has been shredded and have holes in them. One even has a bent rack. Despite their failure to keep up with this they recently purchased duplicates of multiple machines. Management has never once stepped into the free weight area to observe the deterioration on their own. And when bringing this to the attention of the GM Denise she refuses to let you out of contract. This facility may have a pool and a basketball court and they will most definitely charge for it. Despite the pool being closed for 6 months straight and the basketball courts being unavailable due to the ceiling leaking. I would highly recommend fighting the crowds at a more popular gym than risking your workouts and physical health with faulty equipment here.

Everyone was welcoming. It was our 1st time there as Silver Sneaker members. Nice track, lots of exercise machines and a large pool. Did a mile around the track. Looking forward to going back. ??
