This is by far the BEST place to shop! Hether and Michael provide the best customer service. Their shop is brightly lit, amazing selections, and full service sewing machine repair technician. Right next to the shop is a great little Cafe with wonderful coffee, tea, and ice cream! All employees are friendly, helpful and professional!
We spent a week at their Quilt Retreat Center, Sew 'N Sleep. It is the best facility ever! The quilt area is well lit, 5' adjustable height tables with Arrow chairs, 4 ironing boards, and 2 cutting stations. 2 recliners were comfy when some ladies just wanted to walk away from their quilting and put their feet up!
There is also a full size kitchen in the Retreat Center!
The Lodge also has a full kitchen and dining room. A cozy den with a large TV.
Bedrooms have an individual theme with comfortable beds. Baths are large and include all shampoo and liquid soap. Washer and dryer on-site as well.
If you are planning a quilt retreat, this is the place to come!
I can't stop raving about this facility! If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

***Edit after owner Michael Sneeringers response: I guess the owner is furious someone is bringing their bad experience to the internet because they have now found my business page and left a 1 star review with no context out of spite. What an interesting way to do business!!
These folks not only broke our machine the first time, but then tried to pass the blame onto us.
I dropped it off with needle bar that wasn’t bent and a machine that was capable of stitching out, and it was returned with a BENT needle bar and couldn’t stitch. Please see video for reference.
Of course I’m going to be upset and want you to fix my $10,000 machine that you broke lol
It’s been quite the journey to get my machine back from these folks.
Dropped off a 10 needle embroidery machine that they told me they could repair. The first round took approx 3 weeks for the machine to be ready.
Once it was ready,I tried contacting them for pickup and no one would answer the phones or respond for a few days so I messaged them on Facebook to see if I needed to schedule pickup and ask how much the repair was and I was quoted $199.
I arrive to pick up the machine and I’m now being told it’s over $300 for the repair. I tell them I was quoted differently online and the issue gets resolved after texting with some folks.
I get the machine home and go to run it and notice my screen settings are off, and am immediately notified of an error stating no needle selected and a second error that the when in the back in not in the proper 100* position.
I try to trouble shoot and go to run a design and the presser foot will not engage on any of the needles.
I contact Sew N Place and immediately they think it was the way I transported the machine, which it wasn’t. We transport the machine monthly with zero issues like this.
They offer to have me bring it in to have a look and to refund me since I’m now on another 4 hour round trip to them to drop off a machine that definitely wasn’t broken when I originally dropped it off to them.
Turns out the needle bar was bent from their original repair which they again tried to blame on me transporting, but they need to fix.
A few more weeks go by and the machine is now ready. I picked it up and I now have the thread missing that I was specifically told to have with the machine. And also no refund.
I have driven to these folks 4 times for a total of 16 driving hours to have my machine botched the first time, and for customer service woes.
I’ll never come back to them and will absolutely be disputing this. Horrid customer service and repairs.

I am co-owner of the machine referenced in the review of Shane B (left on the same day). Normally I would not weigh in, but I have dealt with these people directly, and need to set the record straight on a few things in the reply from the owner of the business.
In the absolutely childish response to Shane’s review, the owner of the business has chose to misrepresent some time frames, specifically in regards to the quilt show. ”when we were at the show, you sent videos of the issues you were having” - this statement from the owner is true. However, what he has chosen to omit is that he had already returned our machine to us as repaired. You see, we brought the machine in for a registration error, then they claimed it was repaired, THEN when we got it home, there were issues where it would not even stitch because of their botched repair job. It looked like the machine was locked up and having a seizure. It was at this time we messaged them when they were at the show, and of course we were upset: we were already behind because of their error and then we had to bring it back.
You have done a good job of playing the victim in your response, but unfortunately for you, these communications happened via Facebook messenger, which means I actually have timestamps in the conversation to show when these discussions happened. I will happily share them to show anyone how you misrepresented the truth.
At the end of the day, the machine is now repaired, but not without a lot of hassle. Your staff does not answer the phone or return calls (again, referenced in our Facebook discussion), and when we did manage to get a response, we often got conflicting information (again, something I can easily prove).
“Shame on you” is how you ended your flailing response to a recounting of your series of blunders. Don’t make me laugh.
Edit: the owner has decided to leave a 1 star review of my business, despite never having been a customer. What an absolutely childish and pathetic retaliatory gesture. As someone who HAS experienced the service offered by Sew N Place, I stand by my 1 star review.

Very happy and helpful staff. I enjoy going here immensely. The clerk noted that they're trying to schedule Saturday classes - can't wait for that, and put on your calendars that every Saturday before the Super Bowl, they have a great quilting fabric sale called the Super Bolt - 25% off all bolt fabrics, and 35% off if you buy the whole bolt! I'm not a quilter, but that's a great deal! (I may quilt someday if they start those Saturday classes, lol!)

Enjoyed a fun retreat at the Sew'n Sleep. Well supplied, clean and well lighted lodge and retreat building in a beautiful and convenient location. The Sew'n Place and Caledonia Cafe were welcoming hosts. Highly recommended!

The cafe is lovely and the drink options are extensive. We had a white chocolate and raspberry latte with oat milk and a 'London Fog' with almond milk. Both were delicious. We could spend a happy hour looking at the antique sewing machines on display. Will definitely be back!

We stop here every year on our way back to Ohio, and always had great service.Today we stopped and the young girl tried to find what I was looking for and couldnt.. she asked the other lady who was working on the computer and she acted put out showing me another olir as they didn't have the one on display. I was going to but other fabric to go with it along with 5 fat qts. I decided just to get what the young girl had cut for me.It's a shame because it was always a nice quilt shop to shop at a bd I like to support local quilt shops. However, I will not be stopping here again.Linda LewisAkron ohio
