If your child has an IEP or any special needs, think twice before enrolling them at A Child’s Nest in Folcroft. My son, who has an active IEP and turned 4 this month, was abruptly terminated from care by Director Helene Calabro — with no written warning, no proper documentation, and absolutely no regard for his support plan.
When I asked for the written policy they claimed justified his removal, she scrambled for nearly an hour and still couldn’t produce anything consistent. What I did find — myself — said children “may no longer be accepted” if not potty trained, not will be terminated. That’s not a policy — that’s a loophole they’re using to push out kids they don’t want to accommodate.
Helene stated she “had to be fair” because she did it to other parents — which, to me, just proves a pattern of targeting children who need extra support. A state-funded facility should never be allowed to treat IEP families this way.
This experience was discriminatory, disorganized, and disturbing. If you’re a parent looking for compassion, professionalism, or support for your child’s educational needs — this is not the place.

My son and nephew attend this daycare and i love it so much. So glad my son is more comfortable than when we started here. The teachers n staff are great pleasant. I didn't give 5 because of their hours lol close too early for me. Overall wonderful place we appreciate them dearly.

Wanted so badly to give them more stars but coming from an outside company to be a help and taking over they whole job was just a bit much for one person being a stars program they should be able to handle all types of cases but shows favoritism and treat kids with an iep totally different not even taking into consideration the kid is already dealing with a lot wouldn’t recommend if your child has any type pca or bht they don’t get paid enough to be a teacher friend and support … just my honest opinion

If your child has an IEP or any special needs. Don’t send them here. There are better schools. Even without that , there are better schools.

My daughter was racially profiled harassed at this daycare, she was bullied and treated terribly by staff, i would have to force her into class because she would put up a fight and cry when i will leave. Also my daughter father overheard a teacher make a smart remark about her stating “she look like she ready to start shit” my daughter is only 2!!! One of the staff let me know that they made a plan to kick her out due to “behavioral issues” and me not putting her into therapy that the therapist stated she doesn’t need !! Also the staff were telling under staff members about my nephew personal health problems and about other personal things. They kicked my daughter out and also the 3rd teacher hits the other children my nephew and other staff told me.

I only gave them 2 stars because the 1 PreK teacher here is amazing. Everything else, especially management, I wouldn't recommend. There are better places in the area.
