Wanted to go around the historical sites but I wanted to add a little something to it to make it more "fun". I did not opt to do the guided tour but renting the bike was one of the best activities I did here in Gettysburg.I went at my own pace and followed the audio tour from the National Park Service. I was able to enjoy sun, exercise, and education all under 4hrs.If I were to see the sights at Gettysburg again, I would definitely do it again on a bike.

This is a great way to experience Gettysburg in a more active way. Tour guide was very nice and enthusiastic. They were well prepared with bike tools, water stops, handlebar bags to use, etc. We really appreciated that he provided some options to make the bike ride easier or harder and waited for everyone to do each section as he went, but I forgot how much bike riding 12 miles is so I thought it was exhausting! I would recommend going only with your group or taking an e-bike if you are not an avid biker so you can take in the tour at your pace. A few other things to note: this is a detailed tour and truly goes the full 3+ hours. About one hour ended up being cycling time with a lot of stops for 5-10 minute talks telling you about what happened. It generally goes chronologically. It does get a little graphic in the guides explanation but that’s what happened and we are here to remember. Great for people who want to get more out of their visit to Gettysburg and like to bike ride.

We had an amazing tour with Bob this morning and I could not be more grateful for the experience. I brought my kids (ages 13 and 11) who were admittedly a bit reluctant to spend a morning of long weekend getaway doing "schoolwork" but they both walked away chattering about how much the loved it! Bob is a true gem - as a retired teacher, he was truly able to engage the kids in a way that kept their attention but also without making them feel as though they were sitting in a lecture. Absolutely top notch!

My unit (USMC) contacted Gettysbike tours about a tour for educational purposes. We confirmed that they would be at the business and confirmed their hours with them weeks in advance. All 12 of us loaded up and drove the hour+ from Baltimore excited for our tour only to be stood up. No one was at the business location. No one would answer a phone, and they actually left us on read when we messaged them on Facebook. Matt and Jake hate America.

The best way to experience Gettysburg is definitely by bike! Our tour guide, Bob, was extremely knowledgeable and excited to teach our small group all he could in the 4 hours we spent riding around the battlefield. I highly recommend this tour! Way better than a bus or auto tour!!

Husband and I did a full day private historian tour with Jessie. Awesome experience! She was so knowledgeable and engaging. We are in our 60’s, so our e-bikes were a godsend to navigate the hills - and Jessie did it on a regular geared bike. We were impressed. We learned so much about the battlefield and being able to navigate the terrain by bike gave us a better appreciation on how difficult some of the attacks must have been to execute. We may do another tour in a year or so and focus on certain troop movements.

My wife and I signed up for the Grand Tour on bikes. It was great! The tour covers the entire the entire battle. Going by bicycle really makes a difference. Bob, our guide, did a fantastic job. I'm very visual and his descriptions really helped me see in my mind what happened.

We LOVED the tour and our guide Bruce did a fantastic job. We had our 8 year son, and Bruce used great analogies to help him understand the battle and people and really made the history interesting to all of us. I would highly recommend this tour!

We, a family of three from the Netherlands, had a great tour. Being a military historian Gettysburg was high on my bucket list. My wife and daughter joined me out of curiosity, but like me enthusiastically finished the tour. That's all thanks to our guide Jessie.

This was a fantastic way to tour the battlefield. We did the 4 hour tour with Jessie as our guide. She filled in some of the details that we had missed when we toured some of the historic sites on our own. There are some hills to navigate which can be a little difficult if you're not used to riding a bike. I was aware of this upfront so I was prepared to walk my bike if necessary. They ended up not being as difficult as I anticipated. Would do again for sure!

Myself and my girlfriend signed up for the tour and were so glad we did. Our tour guide, Bob; was AWSOME. Not only did he keep us interested the entire tour, he was able to recite speeches, letters from solider's to loved ones and provide interesting side stories about the towns peoples experiences. Great way to see the battlefield as you can actually appreciate how hard it must have been to traverse some of the areas on foot. If you are going to Gettysburg, highly recommend a bike tour by this company. ASK FOR BOB!!

Our guide, Bob Steenstra, immersed us in the era with his vast knowledge, ability to communicate and his passion. His blending of the politics of the time; his insight of key individuals, some well known, some commoners; his descriptions of battlefield tactics, successes and failures; his use of and delivery of famous quotes and citations were brilliant in making you feel the events of the past. I’ll remember his sincere requests to look closely at the faces of certain statues to bring you closer to the will and sacrifice of so many. Lastly, Bob directly yet discretely cautioned us to remember the lessons learned, the request of Abraham Lincoln and to reflect on these lessons and asks when living in our current and future America. As for touring by bike, I did the auto tour decades ago and not too long ago took a horseback tour (which was cool, but short with little information). Nothing compared to being on the bike, the pace, stopping easily at locations, viewing the entire space, walking into the battlefield, then riding and looking unobstructed by vehicle design was simply awe inspiring with the right tour guide. I’m a cyclist, but others were easily able to navigate the course on rental bikes geared well for the geography with few and simple climbs. As for traffic, I felt very safe. Do it, you’ll love it!

This is absolutely THE way to see the battlefield. Prior to visiting Gettysburg, I read many accounts and reviewed the detailed content by American Battlefield Trust and History Underground/History Traveler on YouTube, so I felt I had a good background. But spending a few hours with a Licensed Battlefield Guide covering the ground out in the open air on bicycle pulled everything together perfectly. Our guide even took care to focus on areas of interest to me once I mentioned the unit my 3XGreat Grandfather served in at Gettysburg. If you can bike some hills, you must see the battlefield this way with GettysBike Tours!

We did the Historian Tour and absolutely loved it. Our tour guide, Bob, was both knowledgeable and entertaining. It is the absolute best way to experience Gettysburg. It was worth every minute, and every penny. We would highly recommend this to anyone who loves cycling, and history.
