Decent course, challenging holes. Re-done some of the holes on the back nine, which are improvements. Need to be straight off the tee on holes 1, 9, 10, 11, 14, 17, and 18. Greens run well. I play it every year, provided the rates aren't too high, as with other courses, can fluctuate.

Pretty good course, up until we encountered a random member (or frequent player, we didn't get to ask). He began berating us due to us parking a bit close to the tee box (there were countless cart tracks going to the same spot). He was proclaiming that this was "his course" and was making a major scene out of what we took as being a misunderstanding. He also took his cart while we were in the tee box and parked it right on the box itself, so clearly he felt the rules didn't apply to him. If he was a member, then he is a clear representation of how this place feels they can conduct business.

Great shape and I like the redesign. If I had to give any constructive feedback. I would remove the fescue.

This course has tried for some reason and I'm not really sure to improve it. But all it is done is make it worse. The layout used to be just fine but they have completely ruined 11 and 13. They changed 14 for some reason but I have no idea why it was just fine and they've completely ruined 15. I'll never play there again. The tea boxes are in horrendous shape. The greens are starting to go bad enough that if they have 10 or 15 dry days, that course is going to be lost. I suggest playing anywhere, but there.

Who lets two foursomes out that have never played golf at 10:30 am on a Saturday? Over 3 hours to play 11 holes, drove cart across par 3 green and golf staff did nothing. Obviously, don’t care about pace of play and no knowledge of running a golf course. The renovations suck, ruined signature hole and spent money on 13 to rebuild same awful hole. Money should’ve gone into poor conditions such as fixing patchy fairways, bumpy greens and awful sandless bunkers.

The groundskeeper needs to mind his own business and keep to himself. We pay to play, his paycheck comes from that. Always says something d*** to players.

Was pleasantly surprised with my round at PGH National yesterday 6/26/23. I’ve played here several times in the past and love the challenge of this beautiful layout. Here are a few reasons I like playing here.*Very nice practice area.*Stand alone chipping area with sand bunkers and practice green.*Very large and well designed putting green in great condition.*Several practice mats and driving range to warm up if you choose.Golf CourseSeveral nice tee boxes stretching from 4614 yds to 6929 yds. (I believe this needs updated plus the rating and slope) my gps was also off from 11-13.Carts were like new condition.Fairways are fair width. Rough was not unfairly deep. No trouble finding any shots that strayed off the fairway. Greens are very large with many pin placements….. could be extremely difficult. Speeds were med fast and held any full shots. Ball marks were at a min. Bunkers and Par 3 tee boxes need work for sure. Lack of sand was an issue for me twice through out my round. Manicuring around the bunkers need attention. I love the new 13th hole! Well protected undulating green built into the hillside. New tee boxes are nice and plenty of room to hit the fairway. Great improvement from the original 13th.For a Sunday morning 9:15 tee it took 3 of us 4 hours 15 minutes. Only a few times we had to wait. Overall we were very pleased with the conditions and looking forward to returning soon. A bit pricey but now all golf courses are unless you play during the week. Thank You PGH National keep those conditions and open the Grill Room like the old days! See you soon ??

Front 9 is not all that special, but the back 9 is on another level. It really brings the rating up for me.

Course is getting in better shape but still run poorly. Frost delayed us by over 2 hours so some us couldn’t play due to timing Jim wouldn’t give rain check because it was not weather related!

What can I say? Ownership has upped their game on this "new and improved" Pittsburgh favorite. If you haven't played PN recently, you should. Ownership has made some changes to make the course much better than the "old course." It's definitely one of the top courses in the Pittsburgh area. You have to add this course to your monthly rotation. A Pittsburgh classic.

Nasty, nasty ownership with dreadful customer service. I made tee times for our 20-man travel league months in advance. A week before the event the course cancelled my tee time because I wouldn't agree to pre-pay for the 20 guys. I can't afford to take the risk of bad weather (this was in October), the owner just yelled at me and hung up. They'd not told me this policy when I made the tee times, I had to scramble to find a replacement. Do not go there! They are mean, and will try to rip you off.

This course was in pretty good shape overall and an interesting layout. One of the holes is closed and under construction on the back nine. Greens and bunkers could use a little work. There is a driving range, putting green, and practice chipping area that were nice. The staff here were also very friendly, would definitely play this course again.
