I walked into Gladwyne pharmacy last week, and the first thing I noticed was the smell... Smelled strongly of mothballs. After looking around for a few minutes, I realize all of the dust covering the merchandise and shelves. It was so bad that a triggered my asthma. Also, the staff was not friendly, and did not seem interested in helping me, or even interested in being there. This visit to Gladwyne Pharmacy was certainly my first and last visit. Sad to say, but Gladwyne pharmacy is off my list!

I've been a customer of Gladwyne pharmacy for over three years, and my family has been a customer of Gladwyne Pharmacy for over thirty years--at least, we were until today. I called the pharmacy this morning to inquire about their stock of a prescription that I take regularly and have filled here many times. The pharmacist who answered the phone told me incredibly rudely that I "will have a hell of a time finding that." I asked why, and then I was rudely snipped at that "there are shortages of medications sometimes," as if she was annoyed that I asked. I then tried to ask if they could possibly order it for me, and how long it would be if they could in fact get it in, but before I could get the words out, the pharmacist yet again snipped "I told you we don't have it in stock and that's really the information you're looking for, right?" Then she hung up. I was appalled. I called back, irritated that I was treated so rudely, and the pharmacist picked up again, and I asked if she had just hung up on me. She played dumb, pretending that it was someone else who had answered the phone, even though the voice was clearly the same. I played along and explained the situation, and when I wasn't being told if they could order it or not, I asked for Perry, the owner, who I have met before. When I calmly asked if Perry was in, I was barked at yet again, "no, he's not in, and throwing his name around won't get you anywhere." I then proceeded to say that I've been a customer here for years and have never been treated like this. The pharmacist then started literally yelling at me: "I told you we don't have it! What is wrong with you? What the hell is wrong with you?" I was then furious, in shock that I was being treated like this by a professional establishment, especially one that provides a service to patients in need. In anticipation of the pharmacy possibly responding to this review citing language from the call, I will admit that I used some coarse language at the end of the second phone call because I was angry and upset that I was treated like this. I decided to call the store itself back a few minutes later and ask for the manager, not the pharmacy. I was put on hold, and then a man named Carl said hello, a man I have met many times at checkout. I explained the situation to him, and he at first apologized and told me that they've been getting many calls from people asking if they have medications in stock, and that there is a lot of tension with the situation. I told him that while I understand that, frankly it's no excuse to treat me like that. He at first placated me and said he would talk to the pharmacist. But, he did not say how he would rectify the situation at all. I told him that I would prefer to continue to support the independent pharmacy, and I asked him to call me back to see how they could rectify this. He did call me back a few minutes later, and he told me that he spoke with the pharmacist and "decided to side with her" because I became "confrontational" on the phone, which is not true. I remained calm until she started yelling at me saying "what is wrong with you?!" She also refused to give me her name when I asked for it on the phone. Carl then told me that they would not be able to fill my prescriptions going forward. This business should be ashamed of themselves. With many other pharmacies willing and ready to help their customers, I don't think Gladwyne Pharmacy will be around for much longer. You can't treat customers like this and expect to have a successful business, especially repeat, lifetime customers. I will be reporting this business to the Better Business Bureau.

Outrageously priced and pretty miserable staff. I’ve gone in there a dozen times in the past few months and it always seems like I’m an inconvenience for them to be helping. I work in customer service so I understand how draining it can be, but come on.

They have everything! Even distilled water when no one else has it! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDENT PHARMACIES PEOPLE! Chain pharmacies like CVS and Rite Aid have put out of business most small indie pharmacies. Fight back against corporatization of America.

I went to this pharmacy to get some items for my mother who had just had knee replacement surgery. I brought my 3 year old daughter and I forgot to put our masks on which was my mistake that I take responsibility for. I'm looking for the items and am confronted by a very tall individual with long black hair and glasses with something along the lines of hey do you have a mask? It wasn't hostile but it was not friendly either. I replied no because they were in the car, plenty of children and adult masks. Instead of engaging in a respectful conversation at a safe distance, The individual walks away and returns with two ADULT masks and hands them to me without saying another word. While I appreciate the individual getting us masks, what am I supposed to do with an adult mask for a three year old? In short, horrendous customer service. How about in a pleasant voice say something along the lines of our store policies are that all clients wear a mask to which I would have responded no problem, I apologize let me get them from my car. Instead, I was so taken aback by again what I would characterize and horrible customer service and lack of general respect that I put my mask on and fidgeted with the adult mask to try and adjust it to work for her. When I calmed down a bit and my senses returned. I just walked outside with my daughter and got one of children's masks from my car and came back in with our masks on and purchased the items. With in my opinion the sky high prices charged at this store, I would expect at very least to be treated with respect for making a mistake. This place won't last long with all the other shops in town shutting down if this is how they treat customers. I would suggest some retraining for this individual.

My Dr called in a script but they never filled it! I called today to pick it up and they said they had to order it and it could be filled but when I asked to buy a partial bottle(its expensive) I was told that I would have to buy the whole bottle...no prescription!! Not good!

Charged an extra $5 than agreed price for filling balloons. Short and crabby service.
