I was initially excited to visit this J.Crew store at Brinton Lakes to pick up a coat I purchased online and check out some other items. Unfortunately, my experience left me very disappointed and questioning whether I’ll return to this brand.
While the associate at the front desk was helpful in retrieving my order and directing me to the fitting area, the rest of the experience was frustrating. When I tried on the coat, two female associates walked by at different times without offering help, despite it being clear that I needed assistance (I was in the women’s fitting area). The store wasn’t busy, so I would have expected a retail associate to take an interest in helping me instead of ignoring me. When I vocalized that I wished someone would ask if I needed help, one associate simply commented that the coat “looked fine,” even though it was obviously the wrong size.
This lack of engagement made me feel unappreciated as a customer and unwelcome in the store. I can’t help but feel a bit racially profiled, as this level of dismissiveness seemed intentional and left a bad taste in my mouth.
I left the store returning the coat in hopes that a smaller size might work. I have since cancelled my order due to this negative experience. I truly wanted to enjoy my visit and become a loyal customer, but this experience has made me hesitant to return. I hope J.Crew addresses the customer service and inclusivity issues at this location to ensure better experiences for all customers.

This review is specifically calling out your associate Mary. I went into your store today 10/30 looking for pants for an event. I am a smaller build male who has to buy womens pants for them to fit properly. Mary was initially helpful, but then became more rude and snippy as the conversation went on. “Did you read that they are wide leg?!”… yes mary I did… “leave them on the hanger!”…. She proceeded to ask me my name to start a fitting room and then completely forgets 5 seconds later. When she realized my whole attitude changed to match her energy, she all of a sudden went back to be somewhat nice and offered to look for the pants in a different size (which i told her i didnt need but she insisted)… at that point I had a bad taste in my mouth so I left. I usually give people the benefit of the doubt but this was blatant disrespect and felt very judged as a LGBTQ member. The pants fit great on me I just won’t give my money to this store. Go to KOP to save yourself some attitude and judgement.

I shop here a lot! Staff is very friendly and helpful. They go inside and look for sizes if it’s not there. Some of them give excellent suggestions based on the event your attending. Some are just excellent with telling you what size you should pick!!! They even help suggesting an upcoming sale!!!! Recommend going to this Jcrew!

Mary was extremely rude to my wife and daughter that she came home and cried. Apparently she was treated like trash because she walked in with sweatpants but she was only dressed that way because she had just tanned but that doesn’t give MARY AN EXCUSE TO EMBARRASS MY WIFE. Based off the reviews she must not treat everyone that way if they don’t look like crew models. Very sad and never shopping here again

I really like this particular location but having store hours of 11AM or Noon to 5PM baffles me. I would like to shop here, but visiting during work hours isn't an option for most people. Even closing at 6 would be nice.

I generally dread making returns - and had a lot of items to return after the holidays, but the staff (Dana in particular) welcomed me and assured me that it was no trouble. She instantly took a dreaded chore and made it an easy experience.

I am a frequent shopper at this J Crew location and Love the staff who is ALWAYS extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. If there is ANYTHING I need that isn't available in the store they offer to order it and send it directly to my home free of charge. The manager (Female Long Dark Hair-Jennifer or Jackie) is Amazing. I can always count on her to ensure that I have an Incredible experience during my time in their store. Thank you J Crew for making me feel like a V.I.P. Every time I'm in your Brinton Lakes Store. I highly recommend this location as you won't be disappointed and will be in "Great" hands!!!.
