This seems to be a hidden gem because the beach and lake were nearly empty on a very hot, sunny day. The beach and swimming area were huge and the bathroom was clean. The sand is perfect for digging and building. The water is comfortable and the bottom is mostly sandy but it's prone to bacteria and red algae so wear an old or black bathing suit to avoid stains.

Great for a family picnic! Boat rental is reasonably priced and the employee was great. The beach is a great place for your kids to play.

Gouldsboro Lake is being overtaken by an invasive plant. It looks pretty in the water but it’s drinking up all the waters so it’s hard to have a boat on the lake. Easy to kayak in the middle of the lake. I am saddened by this eventuality.Playground: State Park has a playground area.Restrooms: There are restrooms.Picnic area: Great picnic areas.

Very popular spot. It's a beautiful lake. The swimming area isn't to bad. Most people are friendly.Restrooms: Restrooms were what you expect.Dog-friendliness: Not everyone likes dogs apparently. Some lady was rude to me and my sister even tho my dog was leashed and nowhere near her.Picnic area: Lots of grass to lay a blanket down and eat. There are some tables available, fills up fast.

Beautiful park with a gigantic lake, a very nice beach area, with a dedicated view of both at the designated smoking area ;)

We didn't spend much time at the park. What we did do was rent a boat powered by a trolling motor. The cost was $40 for an hour. We were given two batteries to power the motor in case the one battery would run out of power. After only about a half hour both batteries were dead. We had to row back. We asked for a discount since we didn't get what we paid for. They would not give us a discount. We were very disappointed in the boat rental.

Guy that runs the boat rental shack was sitting outside with his colleague having a very loud conversation with lots of vulgar language. Ruined the beautiful day for me and I left. I go there to GET AWAY from that kind of thing.DCNR needs to control their employees.
