I ate here for my first time this afternoon, after being referred by a local doctor. She stated, "Oh, you HAVE to try Majestic's. They are world-renowned for their footlong hotdogs." After my little surgery, I decided to stop in and grab a bite to eat for lunch. First thing I noticed ... spinning away on their grill ... regular Smith's hotdogs. They were all about 6 inches short of their "world-renowned" length and grandeur. Anyone can fry/grill a bunch of hot dogs. Secondly, where's the fries or onion rings? I ended up settling for their "summer only" macaroni salad. Guess what ... store-bought. I knew it at my first bite (slight sour aftertaste from the preservatives, consistency of the macaroni, etc.). I'd be willing to bet that it came from a big ol' tub of Walmart macaroni salad. The only saving grace is their sloppy joe mix ... adding sugar gives it the perfect blend of sweet and tangy. Delicious. Store-bought bags of Schwebel's hot dog buns (sitting on a big, multi-rack shelf to the left of entrance door). ? Put your food products behind the counter or in your kitchen. Beverages of choice: canned soda, alcohol or water ... nothing creative or homemade here. Since 1920? The lady who waited on me stated the following, while I was deciding on what to order: "I've been here 43 years. And I still don't like our maji sauce ... I wouldn't get it." ?? One, I had to hold my laughter in. Two, don't bad-mouth your own restaurant or food anywhere near a customer.?Are you trying to run off business? The decor is definitely outdated and archaic. Am I dining, getting ready to go hunting for my lunch, or at a wake? Overall, not a good dining experience in regards to the quality of food, decor and atmosphere. Nice sloppy joe mix though! ?Parking: Free 2-hour parking on street.

A must-do any time I'm back in Greenville visiting family. It's consistency is comforting. I always get a plain dog or dog with ketchup, but my family members rave about the chili/meat sauce. A little interesting that there's no longer a liquor license, but let's be real - that's not why you're going there. You can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of nostalgia as soon as you step inside. Plenty of seating, clean bathrooms, & a variety of decor.
