I received a gift for Christmas from my wife. She purchased it on December 3rd and ordered it online. Over Christmas I also got a blue vest from my brother for Christmas. Since I don’t need two blue vests, I decided to return the one from J Crew. Our order was found via my email address but since we past the holiday return date, the manager refused to take it back. I wasn’t looking for a full refund, store credit would have been fine as our entire family came to buy stuff. It was 9 days past the deadline and the manager refused to do anything so we walked out without buying anything. I immediately called their online customer service and was given an immediate shipping label for a full refund. The policy was obviously bogus as the guy on the phone understood why I wanted a refund. How can a retailer stick to a January 9th return deadline over Christmas. My wife asked what if we wouldn’t have given them my email address to look up the order and just claimed it was a gift. The manager ignored my wife’s question twice. Needless to say, we will not be back to shop here.
