I rented a car on Monday evening (12/4/23) . I tried to call the following day (Tuesday) sever times after work at 5pm, but there was no answer. I am very disappointed in my rental. I don't feel that it is at all reliable or safe.When I picked it up, it was all scratched up and dented, so I had to take a ton of pictures and video before driving it off the lot. That should have been my warning to ask for a different car, but I decided to trust Hertz, and I was wrong to trust them. I know they were low on inventory and had several angry customers fighting over cars in the lobby, so I just took what they gave me.Everything wrong with the car:- There are 2 engine lights on, one for battery, one for oil. (When you turn the key, but don't press the brake to turn it on, you will see them.)- Every few minutes there are engine smells (like burning oil?), and it is very strong after you turn it off.- It pulls to the left really hard while driving on the highway, and the wheels feel very bumpy above 50 miles an hour (probably bent?)- There is a crack in the windshield that appears to be growing. (I took OVER 50 pictures of Dents/scratches when I picked it up, but didn't notice this until this morning).- The windshield wipers leave smudges so bad that you can't see.If I only had to have the car for a day or two, I'd ignore it, but I need a reliable car for the next few weeks, and I don't trust this one at all. I'm just incredibly disappointed right now.UPDATE: I couldn't get ahold on the phone, but I did just drive there and exchange the car a day later (there was only 2 cars in the whole lot!) This new one is still not in great condition, but it is better than the previous one. Not bad enough to exchange again. If you see an engine light on with the car off, that DOES mean you need to check things out! (The employee tried to tell me it meant nothing). Also, he gave me a car only half full of gas, but the email exchange confirmation said it was full. Luckily the Key said 4/8 on gas. So I had to take a video on sight before driving off the car of the lot for evidence incase they try to charge me, and I returned the bad rental with a full tank...2nd UPDATE (after return): My car repair was delayed, so I had to extend the rental agreement. It was easy to do using the online forum. However, they would only let me return on Jan. 1st, and not any other days past. (maybe all booked up?) There was no one there when I returned the car/ they were closed, so I took several videos and photos of the car, including dropping the key in the box. Today a charge showed up on my bank account, and I assume it is for gas... even if I returned the car with more gas that what I was given. I tried calling several times and had no luck. They DO NOT answer the phones at this location. (though the mini golf in the office would make you think they'd have time to answer...) Guess I'll have to drive the 45 minutes to Harrisburg to dispute it since they NEVER ANSWER, or dispute it with my bank. Will not be using this Hertz location again in the future.

Website directions steer you to an old location. Not far from the new location but a pain to enter and exit either location parking lot.

The location does not answer their phone. I have called several times a day, at different times of the day, for the last 2 weeks and no one has picked up the phone. Two. Weeks. No answer.The corporate office was calling and threatening to send me to repossession even though I renewed my week through the paxton st location the week prior. Don't bother.

The lady that answered phone should be fired and no longer be in the customer service field! Absolutely shockingly rude on the phone! This location is horrible please save your time and go somewhere else ! Wasted our time before our vacation…

The company as a whole needs to implement a system that allows the customer to see their availability of vehicles in real time instead of a system that’s allowing you to book reservations and then you get to the location and they’re no vehicles available so you’ve just wasted a ride there.

Customer service is not friendly, when asking a question the lady kept putting me on hold to ask her manager, so I asked can I just speak with manager instead of being placed on multiple holds to ask your questions? She hung up on me and wasn't able to call back... they will never receive my business nor my company's business. If I could have left no stars that's what they would have gotten!

Unfortunately I had to change my rental to a different company. This Hertz location does not pick up their phone and I had an issue that could only be solved over the phone. I called 2-3 times only for the phone to ring and ring. I switched to Enterprise and not only did I save several hundred dollars, but they picked up the phone immediately.

Incredibly disappointing experience. I was told to leave my rental at a dealership after I purchased my new vehicle and that the rental would be picked up. Five days later I’m still getting calls from the dealership that the car is in the lot. I’ve called every day since Tuesday only for the phone to ring and ring and ring. Hertz customer service had to send this branch an email for them to even respond! They were also trying to charge me through 3/13 when the car was returned on 3/7.

I booked a car online and when I went to pick it up they didn't have it available. They wanted to give me a more expensive one. They didn't even want to give me an offer knowing that what they did to me was wrong.

The Harrisburg PA Paxton St Hertz is great. Excellent service. Gave me a small car as requested and answered all my questions. I used a debit card with no problem but I knew I had enough in my account to cover the deposit hold and other costs and my credit rating was sufficient. I was quite nervous as I had a bad experience with a local satellite office but these people are very courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you.

Who is the representative told me to return my car to Newark airport after an accident they told me it will be no fee for the Harrisburg car rentel charged me at $1200 fee even I was told that I will not be charged
