BEWARE OF THIS ESTABLISHMENT. TL/DR: They are either trying to charge for unnecessary repairs, or their mechanics have no clue what they are doing and should not be working on cars. We took my son's car here for inspection last year, and it was quick and easy. They complimented the condition of the car, mechanically. I've been a helicopter mechanic for the last 27 years so I keep up with routine maintenance, and take care of problems when they arise. This year my son called to make an appointment for his inspection and they were eager to tell him to bring in the car right then. When he and my wife arrived at 12, the lobby was full, and phones ringing off the hook. Absolutely no chance of waiting for it, as they alluded to on the phone. My son then went to work, and I was left to pick up the car. At 5:30 I called to see if the car was finished, since they closed at 6, and was told they sent the information to my son. I explained that he was at work and couldn't get to his phone and I was picking up the car, so I was told that the car didn't pass, and I had to review the "report". They would not discuss anything further until I viewed their report, and called back. Their report claimed that a reverse lamp was out (which it was) and that the inner tie rod had damage or excessive play. When I called back, all the person on the phone wanted to discuss was the "recommended maintenance by mileage" that they assumed wasn't done because it wasn't listed on CarFax. He would not answer my question about just replacing the tie rod, but wanted to "take care of all the issues" for $4600. I told him "absolutely not" and I would be there in 10 minutes to get the car. They did do the emissions (which passed) and I got that sticker, but had to decline all the other items. They could not tell me what the tie rod "play" was measured at, how out of manufactures specs it was, or what the allowable limits were. I've been using precision measuring equipment for well over 20 years, so they were either trying to scam my son, or the mechanic is completely unqualified to be doing inspections. I went home, jacked it up and could not find any play or damage. I had an independent shop look at it, who also found no issues, then took it to the dealer for re-inspection, and wouldn't you know, no problems whatsoever with any steering components. I specifically told them why it was failed and asked them to be more in depth, and they said everything was completely fine. I will never return to this shop, and will tell everyone I come in contact with about this, and to take their business elsewhere. It saddens me to know they have probably been pretty successful with this on plenty of people who don't know any better.

Mike was great! He explains everything for a woman's perspective. They take photos of your car and show you comparisons with the way its supposed to look. If they can save you money, they will go out of their way to help you. Highly recommend them.

I went to this place to get the inspección done on 02/06/24I will not recommend this place to anyone.I waited 2 hours and 45 mints. They told me 1 hr &1/2They come to me and said that 9 different things have to be done on the vehicle.I told them. I will have my husband look at it.When I told the person (Mike) I don’t think this things have nothing to do with the inspection, he replied well if you don’t have the money to do this things now, we have a payment plan.More crazy, he said to me, well today if you want to have the inspection pass you will have to change the front windshield wipers.I told him, I will take the car to my husband he can change them and I will bring the car back same day.He told me NO. If I wanted to do that, I will have to do the inspection all over again and pay for the inspection again. Then he told me,I needed to replace the wipers there. I pay $50 dollars for two front wipers that they didn’t need to be replaced, I check the price in auto zone and the cost is $18 dollars for both of them.I will never go back there for anything ever again. There pushing to sell you everything they can even if you don’t needed.I went for the inspection only and they come up with stuff that have nothing to do with inspection. They couldn’t get me to do anything so they forced me with the change of the front wiper’s.This place is rapé off. Unprofessional and unethical. Forcing customers this way is not professional and certainly not ethic.Be aware if you going to do an inspection they will try to sell you everything.I waited for my vehicle 2 hrs & 45 mnts not for the inspection . It was because they’re were trying to find things to get my money. Not to do what I went there for. To get my car inspected.Hope this can help.

If I could 0 stars I would. Total scammers. I went twice within a week for an oil change and tires. Each time they gave me a totally different list of things that were wrong with my car and needed “immediate attention” including saying my battery was dead & needed to be replaced now (meanwhile on the other report it said my battery was fine) they also said I needed a new ball joint & connector arm (roughly $1000), etc. They were pushing a VERY expensive job. So I went to 2 other shops both of which told me none of these things had to be done and that my battery was testing at 100% and that my ball joints were perfect. They even went as low as to try to push new wiper blades saying mine were streaking, meanwhile I just replaced them & I drive the car everyday so I would know if they’re streaking. Had I been the young, dumb blonde they wanted me to be I would have paid thousands of dollars for repairs I never needed. Go anywhere else but here.

I usually take my car to the dealership but couldn’t get an appointment in time to renew my inspection. Meineke was able to get me in the same day, performed inspection, then called right away with their results. They were very informative and knowledgeable and explained things to me so I would understand what was needed and what wasn’t. I had my car back in less than 24 hours and it’s running great! Although I was lucky enough not to need this option but, they have several repayment and credit options to pay for the higher priced services. It was an easy and stress free experience!

No one should attend or go to these Auto Repair Shops. Specifically, Paxton St Harrisburg, PA. Price gouging and even sustained property damage, if no personal-post vehicle inspection is done BEFORE departure of their grounds. I did a 360 check and discovered outer panel paint damage that if I had not done so would have went illegally unreported to me, but not objectively pointed out to hold them liable. Product liability is on them. If they fail to report damage they inflicted; intentional or not, that becomes more serious. Pending repair estimates to give to them!Overall, a female just before me had health with similar price gouging and said she would never come here again and neither will I. Mike Stein is the manager that when asked for his Insurance for my panel fixing, that his Techs caused, he non-verbally and verbally declined to give my legal insurance info. Avoid this shop bot for your financial and personal well-being.
