The Manor On Front is absolutely gorgeous as well as comfortable. I am very picky in regards to cleanliness and my room was spotless. The bed was very comfortable and I was able to sleep well each night. The decor thru out the house is charming and everything seemed well maintained. Coffee is located in the hallway which was very convenient. The breakfast was delicious.... definitely try the sausage links! The hostess was very pleasurable and made me feel at home. The location is also very convenient as restaurants and other places are not very far away. I look forward to coming back to Harrisburg and will definitely book here again.Rooms: Rooms are very clean with comfortable beds.Safety: The Manor is located in a quiet area. If you choose to take a stroll, you would definitely feel safe to do so.Noteworthy details: The view of the sunset across the river is phenomenal.

Great experience. The setting is beautiful, and if you are into restored mansions, you will not be disappointed. Breakfast was great. They arranged to serve us breakfast early as we had an early

I chose this bed and breakfast because it was a local, veteran-owned business. I, like you, saw the rating, comments, and pictures and eagerly booked. I booked at the cheapest price, through an agency, like most would.Unfortunately this booking was in January and a major snowfall overtook the Northeast. I was driving a moving truck and weather projections were predicting dangerous conditions. I called the property to see if I could either get refunded or change the dates — they said that they had a 14 day cancellation policy, and any changes would have to go through the booking agency. The agency then called the property to process the change, but the representative said the property had told her a change wasn't possible — could have been a miscommunication, so I called the property again. This time I spoke to the owner, and was appalled at how rude she was willing to be to me. She reminded me that they were a local, veteran owned business — I said gently, "I know, that’s why chose your hotel"— but she quickly interrupted me, saying “I’m not a hotel.” She was eager to get me off the phone. I told her about what the agency reported, and she said “she needs to speak English to get the change of date” (the customer service rep might have been from a different country, but I spoke to her over the phone and her English was perfect. Racism is bad business). The change eventually went through but I felt awful and exhausted after the whole ordeal — I wanted to support this business but they were extremely rude and not very accommodating.I’m not a snob, and I rarely leave reviews, but I do think customer service is all about how someone makes you feel. In this case I felt dismissed and unwelcome. I hope others have a better experience, because no one deserves to be treated that way, even from a business you initially wanted to support.

We felt very welcome at The Manor. The staff were very friendly and the rooms are amazing. The home itself has a lot of character, from the slate roof to the beautiful courtyard all the way down to the furnishings. Breakfast was delicious and you can't beat the sunset over the river in the evenings. The grounds were very well maintained and clean. It was the best stay I have had anywhere and genuinely can't put into words how much a reccomend staying at The Manor. The rooms are very quite, allowing for very good rest and the showers/tubs wash all your stress away. You almost feel transported in time with the decorations and style, yet still luxurious.

This is a very charming bed and breakfast spot with a great view of the river. Rooms were meticulously prepared and appointed, and the breakfast was delicious. I don’t love being so close to the neighboring rooms, but that kinda comes with the territory in bed and breakfast type establishments. Definitely a good choice if you’re staying in the area.

Will absolutely stay here again if we're ever in the area and will recommend to friends! Loved the property. Looks like a great event space too. The owners were kind and charming. Enjoyed meeting people at breakfast. The rooms were perfect. Really loved the shower!

We stayed at the Mansion for 3 nights to explore the region around Harrisburg. The location is exceptional and the views are beautiful. The room was clean and comfortable. But we were disappointed with the service and the food. We never interacted with staff— instructions on how to get into the mansion, key codes, directions to our room, reserving a breakfast time, menu selection in advance, and instructions on checkout — all done through writing. We missed having the ability to ask anyone about local attractions and fine restaurants because no one was ever there. After 2 breakfasts, we chose to skip the last day because of the limited offerings. If you are looking for a clean comfy stay at a great location, but without an innkeepers hospitality, this is your place.

I've stayed here twice on my way down south, once to Tennessee and once to West Virginia. Both times my stay was excellent. The rooms are clean and open, the bathrooms are very clean and the free soaps they give smell awesome (blood orange). The breakfast in the morning is delicious. The building inside and outside is absolutely gorgeous and a cool historic site to stay in.Location wise, it's right off the highway and very easy to get to and to leave from. There are many restaurants and gas stations nearby if you're in need of either. The owners are very friendly. If you're looking for your breakfast menu, be sure to look on the envelope your key comes in. Right now the papers are white (they were green the first time I stayed). You'll go place the menu near the dining hall of the main building. The fob on your key is also able to open the doors.Any time I'll be on my way north or south by here this is my first choice to stay at. Quiet, good value without being too expensive or too cheap, incredibly clean, and wonderful service and care from the owners.

My one night stay in the Margee Room was exceptional. The room was immaculate, bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very large and handicapped accessible. The view of the Susquehanna River was an added bonus. The breakfast in the beautiful dining room was delicious and the server was very pleasant and friendly. I will definitely stay at the Manor on Front again.

We absolutely loved staying at The Manor on Front. It was quiet and really a grand home. For dinner we did take out from a local Italian restaurant and ate in the Manor’s dining room. Wonderful!

The Benningtons have outdone themselves with this haven on the river. Service was fantastic, rooms are classically historical with all the modern amenities you would want. My family comes all the way from Virginia for this refreshing take on a B&B.
