I've NEVER had an issue with Hatboro Federal. They are always great toward helping me, efficient, thorough and very accommodating. Don't understand some of these negative reviews, but it sounds to me that most of those people are irresponsible with finances (poor credit scores) or are simply clueless how to navigate a website, so they blame their uneducated shady cluelessness on their bank.. smh.. Kudos to Hatboro Federal!

I've owned three different homes over the past twenty years, and financed every one through Hatboro Federal, I've never been disappointed with their customer service.

I used Hatboro Federal for a first time mortgage after being recommended by a friend. Their interest rate was 0.7% less than any other company I found. Besides the rate saving me money the customer service is top notch! They also do not sell their mortgages

Let me start if you want to refinance your home stay far away from Hatboro savings Bank! They string you along especially their loan officers nothing but a bunch of Bull,PLEASE GO TO TD BANK! you’ll be treated a lot better. One day they say you’re approved! And after having my accountant rush preparing papers and costing me extra money..Three weeks later they say they can’t help you out,I think it’s because I was locked in the lower rate and the rate went up! Their underwriters are a bunch of losers ! They’re all about making money they don’t care about the local people.PLEASE GO ELSEWHERE!I closed my bank account and the staff were so rude and ignorant they didn’t even say thank you they just gave me my money and that was it and turned around! I’m with TD bank which is going to help me with my refinancing.Sometimes The old time banks that are so small just need to close up if you know what I mean..

When I opened my checking account they did not say anything about holding my money for 30 days. When I called to see why our money was not available they said that our money was being held because it was a new account and would be held for 30 days. Their flyer states for new accounts that deposits over 5525.00 dollars other than cash wire transfer or electronic deposits will be available the 9th business day following the day of deposit. . I deposited half that amount and they still held my money. Not a customer friendly bank. They don't follow what is on their flyer.

Preface: the origination team is wonderful. We couldn't ask for a better experience as home buyers. We were thrilled to go through a local bank who has an interest in the community rather than the Wall Street players. My family has several mortgages with this company so we've all been loyal customers. But as you can see from the rating, we could hardly be more upset with the servicing of our loan. We were very unfortunate to experience a house fire (caused by a neighbor) in which we lost everything. We are a displaced family with a one year old daughter. Seeing as how most lenders were granting forbearances with no questions asked given the COVID-19 pandemic, we simply asked if similar relief was possible (deferred payments which would be paid back in full), given the cost of finding another place to live. John Weber of Hatboro Federal said he was willing to work with us, and asked for numerous documents, which we provided. Whenever we asked if any further information was needed, John wrote to us that the matter was still under review, and finally with the Board for approval. We would follow up, and he would write that it's still under review. We asked again if any decision was forthcoming, and John left a voicemail stating “As I told your husband, our policy is that we do not offer any relief in the case of fire.” Just wow...after months of stringing us along in writing and phone calls, John then only comes clean and states the position via voicemail that there was never any consideration of help whatsoever. If that was the policy all along, why not just state it, and not make your customers jump through hoops and give them a false sense of hope? John never alluded to any of this policy in our emails and phone calls. I am happy to provide that correspondence should anyone want to review. In short, if John Weber did not lie to us from the start, there would not be a need for this review. Our family with multiple mortgages was disgusted with the written misrepresentations and lack of support in this devastating event and will only look for business at credit unions moving forward.

If you don't ever need to access your money, this might be a good bank for you. However, if you need access to your money it becomes an exercise in frustration. Want to buy something on Amazon that is over $1,000? Have tens of thousands of dollars in checking? Sorry, you're out of luck. In fact, they told me to call Amazon and see if I could mail them a check. Seriously. I bet that customer service rep was talking to me on a rotary phone. Have a problem when the bank isn't open? You'll have to wait until the next day they open because there is no 24hr customer service. If you call their customer service during the lunch hour, you get a voice mail. Need a new ATM card? Sure, no problem, just wait 2-3 weeks because they can't print one there. It's 2015. How does a rinky dink, 4 branch, ancient bank like this even still exist? The majority of their customer's must be 50+. After coming to Hatboro Federal Savings from TD, I can't believe how much of a headache a bank could be.
