My 2023 return was never filed by Kristina Fish...once I realize this because I never received my refund I called H&R Block with no response from anyone at the Hellertown office.. The Quakertown H&R Block finally made it right I highly suggest you go there

I filed my tax return one year late with Kristina Fish at HR Block. I was due a tax refund of a couple thousand dollars. I never received it. I followed up and she said “It is going to take longer. Be patient.” Followed up again and was told “The IRS is behind because of Covid”. After waiting over a year and half I contacted the IRS and they said they had no record of my return. Despite it being supposedly e-filed by HR Block. I needed to physically resend my return. I just received a letter stating the IRS will not honer my credit of $4,000+ because it is past three years. If HR block had properly filed my return in the first place or provided customer service and looked into my return when I contacted them numerous times, I would have gotten my return. Highly advise anyone to go somewhere else or at minimum double check everything HR block does.

As a small business owner myself, I really hate to leave bad reviews, but in this case, I feel I need to. After working with a great accountant for 15 years (who retired), we switched to Kristina Fish a few years ago because she was local.
We had asked her file an extension for our 2022 taxes yet just found out recently that she only filed a federal extension and failed to file the extension for our PA return, which accrued us nearly $500 in interest and penalties. Months ago when I showed her the letter we received, I got an "I will look into it" and then nothing.
She was also incorrect in telling us that 1099's need to be sent to everyone, including corporations. My husband received a bunch of letters from his contractors basically saying "STOP sending 1099's!" as it just complicates things for them and is unnecessary. How does someone with 17 years of experience not know something this basic?
When she filed our 2022 return, I remembered a few days later that we forgot to include our quarterly payment, which would give us a refund instead of having to pay. She said no problem, I can file an amended return, don't pay anything as you will get a refund. That was on October 16. On November 21 I asked her if the amended return would be in my H&R block account and she said yes, but it never showed up there. March 5 I reached out, AGAIN about the amended return, because it did not update in my IRS account or my H&R block account. She just kept telling me that the IRS is backed up, it takes forever, etc. Then she said she will "upload another copy." SHE NEVER FILED THE AMENDED RETURN. We went to another H&R block and they were able to easily tell that no amendment had ever been filed, so she lied to us the entire time. When the new H&R block tax preparer amended the return it showed up immediately in our portal.
She also made an error on our 2022 return in that we should have gotten an ACA premium credit for nearly $3,000. I asked her both through text and in person several times about this tax credit as it reduces our tax liability by a lot and she just kept saying yeah yeah no worries to placate me but never really answered me or explained anything about it. The last time I mentioned it on 4/15, she told me she would "look into it" and then ghosted me. There are other things too, such as her not being correct in telling me that out of pocket medical expenses can only be deducted if they exceed 10% of your income. The real figure is 7.5% which she insisted was wrong and that I was reading outdated info. I was not, she was.
We ended up finding all of this out when we went to a different H&R block office to have a free "second look" done on our return. I have spent hours upon hours of my time dealing with this, and have filed a complaint to get the $880 she charged us back, per H&R Block's guarantee, as well as a refund for the penalties and interest we paid. I am very disappointed in all of these interactions and I would caution any small business owner to choose a different H&R block office.

Beware- KRIS FISH made an error on my taxes. Then ghosted me. Acts professional when it comes to charging you the money but when an error is made, leaves you hanging and doesn’t respond.

Ugh. I hate that this had to happen but if I can save even one other person from what I went through, it will be worth the time to write this review and share my terrible experience with this office. It's a long read, so bottom line is they messed up my PA State Tax filing for $2,000., never filed a claim in October, finally did file a claim in January, never returned my calls, and just today my claim was approved...for $148.00 for penalties & interest because I didn't buy their "Peace of Mind" protection coverage. Here's the long version...Their office made a $2,000.00 mistake on my 2021 state taxes. I submitted the notification to my tax agent who said she would file a claim in October 2022. She didn't. Or she did, but they "never received it." I never received the claim number. It wasn't she who made the mistake. It was the other girl, who quit last year.I called their office numerous times with no return call. I filed a BBB complaint regarding their unprofessionalism, their false advertising for "100% Accuracy" and "Max Refund" from "Tax Experts."I called corporate twice, who told me that someone from my local office would call me in 2-3 days. No one ever called. I called corporate again. They said the next step is to escalate it. Ok, let's escalate it. "I'll give you the mailing address for corporate." No email? Nope. No email. You have to write a letter and snail mail it to corporate. The next day I get a call from the local office and I ask for my claim number. There isn't one. From Kris, "I will call you Friday with an answer." Friday comes and no call from Kris.I call again on Monday and I get no call because "their phones weren't working," even though they have my cell phone number and they have cell phones.I finally get a call from Ben at corporate who says I have 3 days to submit every page that I received from the State Dept. of Revenue. Meanwhile, Ben had contacted Kris who never got back to him, but I had the deadline, if "you want me to get your claim settled for you as soon as possible."It's now been a week and I still haven't heard anything, so I called Ben again today. He tells me my claim was approved...for $148.00 because "you didn't purchase 'Peace of Mind' coverage." And if I want to recoup the fees for the mistaken service I received, I'll have to call my local office, who never returns calls. Sandy, the District Manger, has never once called or contacted me about any of this.So now I have to pay for their "tax expert's" mistake and Ben then deflects and tells me if I want the fees back for such "expert" service, then I have to call the local office, even after he said he would. Ben says he did call that office and...no one will return his call.Ben is at Corporate H&R Block in Kansas and if Hellertown will not return his phone calls, what chance do I have of receiving a return call?I cannot emphasize enough of Buyer Beware when using this tax office. I know other people have had more favorable results here, but I am not one of them. The lack of professionalism and expertise from this office and this company is very costly.

This H&R Block cost me a $4,000 amended return. This is how..I worked with an accountant here for 5 years, and most of those years were fine and my returns were accepted. In 2020, I filed an amended return for 2019, and I was told COVID slowed everything down with the IRS, which I understand and can accept. However, I followed up every 3 months on the status of this amended return with my accountant for about 2 years. Time after time of hearing the same excuse from my accountant, I finally spoke with a different person at this location who didn't know about my situation. Naturally they looked into my HR Block file internally. That is when they saw that my amended return was NEVER sent. At all. All it took was a quick search in the system to see my return was undelivered. Each and every time I was blown off with "the IRS is still backed up", rather than taking the initiative and 30 seconds to actually look. For two entire years this went on. Meanwhile I had two other returns filed by the SAME accountant. She never once looked at the system. After hearing this, I decided to file the amended return myself, only to hear from the IRS that I had passed the deadline and am ineligible for the amended return. This is how the Hellertown H&R Block cost me a $4,000 amended return. I would recommend you look elsewhere if you value attention to detail, integrity and a proactive accounting staff.
