Never in my life have I ever dealt with a company that has stolen from me and treated me with such disrespect. The degrading, belittling, and the “swindling” me of a $250 demurrage fee is completely repulsive. We have never signed a demurrage form and when we told them after they had charged us with no contract for proof their response was “do you want us to send one out so you can sign it?” After they had already charged it. I never authorized this charge. They have no proof of us signing a demurrage contract yet they still took the money. There was a $125 balance that was supposed to have been processed and never was for services not related to the demurrage fee. The owner was supposed to call me after I had requested to speak to him multiple times. I was spoken to so disgustingly by the “many” people who answer the phones, including a Kathy, not wanting to deal with me requesting any further information on this matter. I was told by one person I’d be getting the money back then by another that “we never said that” along with many minutes of nasty conversation that were recorded. Beware of this company if you are looking for propane. I would Highly recommend Amerigas before Penny Wise. After looking at all the reviews it sounds like we all have the same story. Your employees are awful, now I understand why you’ve been in business for 45 years, all those unauthorized fees you’ve stolen from your customers are keeping you afloat. I’d be cautious of your attitude as a business because the internet is powerful and in your case, it doesn’t seem like you have a clue how it works by the looks of these reviews. A response back is not warranted.

I called to give my card number. The man I spoke to took my card number, and then when I asked some questions about service, he got frustrated with me and said I needed to give him the card number again because he entered it incorrectly. I hd to go ve him my card number 3 more times when he finally said he got it.Fast forward a week and we get our propane delivery. We got a bill for $919 which we fully anticipated.The next day, I got an email that I had to provide a form of payment by 4pm or they would lock my propane tanks. I immediately called and informed the man I spoke with that I gave my card number to a man the week before approximately 5 separate times. He said “oh that was probably Manny. He always messes that up.” I said that I wasn’t sure who I spoke with then but that I’d like to fix the issue immediately.He asked for my information which I gladly provided and said “I can’t find an account for you. We have to set one up.” I said “I definitely have an account already.” The man said “if you want a propane delivery, you have to set up an account.” I told him that I had already received a delivery the day before. He apparently had no idea his company gave me almost $1000 in propane.The man was slow in handling my issue and extremely unprofessional. He told me he was the owner of the company.He submitted my card number for the bill and when I thanked him he said, “wait! Don’t hang up! If you hang up I won’t finish getting your receipt and I’ll forget to mail it out to you. You know how it is.” I said I did not know how that was but he finally got my payment confirmation. I assumed it was for the $919 I was billed for. It was actually for $1246 due to a demarriage (?) fee the previous tenants didn’t pay and they won’t refund me that money. I called last week and asked what the extra fee was and the told me it was the demarriage fee but that they would refund $225 of the fee. Now today they are saying they never told me they would refund the money. I didn’t even live in this house until November.

After multiple years of excellent service here is my experience a few minutes ago. I called to have my automatic payments removed from the account. The woman on the other side refused to do as I asked. She continued to question about the consumption of usage and the main source of heat in the home. At this point I am aggravated asked for her name and again she refused to give me that stating that was in appropriate. She then disconnected that call ..I called back got someone else giggling on the phone. After asking multiple times for her name she said Cathy do I believe her no.Needless to say the company must be doing really well that they can afford to be rude and obnoxious to a long time customer. After being treated this way I will be looking for a company that deserves my business. I look forward to see how the company responds to this review. What those employees fail to understand is that they have employment due to the services that are paid by us the customers!

Used Pennywise and when I've gotten delivery in the past, Bill was left and then I paid it. I called for delivery of Propane twice and never got it. I called today and spoke to someone who said they were the manager, Kathy, and it was terrible. Laughing and inferring I lied about calling for delivery because they didn't get the message from the person who took my call on April 10th at 4:10Pm and prior. Then said I would have to pay $30.00 for the tank and not having it filled before they would fill it now. What a run around. Horrible customer service. Never any issues prior. Was this company bought by someone else?

Stole $200 from me by overcharging me well over what they agreed to. They change rates very aggressively. I called and asked for a refund which they originally agreed to and 2 weeks later I called and they said they changed their mind and I “misinterpreted” their refund agreement. I’m not sure how anyone misinterprets math.

You will never run out of propane ( perfectly monitoring your usage) but you’ll always get the best price.I use them for 2 of my properties . If you need a delivery right away they do show up.

PENNYWISE has been our oil supplier for 30 years when we 1st built our home. Always been there for us and their price per gallon always the best in the area! (We always compared but stuck with PENNYWISE!). So 4 months ago when we switched our outdated oil burner over to a more efficient propane unit IT WAS AN EASY DECISION to stick with PENNYWISE!! Out propane tank even has a remote tank monitor that let's them know when my tank level is below 20%! I also can monitor my tank on line...So Cool. No brainersfor us...WE LOVE PENNYWISE!! Tom Kunkel

We just bought a house and the whistle for our oil tank doesn't work so nobody will come drop off fuel. I called to see if they could come out and look at it so that we are able to stay warm in the winter but the lady rudely let me know they only come out if you have an account with them. Well we would of had an account with them but not after this. Get your oil somewhere else with better people.

Well new to PA new to Pennywise I been having issues but not caused by PennyWise never the less their customers service is terrible the phone etiquette is disgusting - the new lady answering the phone is very argumentative talks over you and cuts you off mid sentence - so far im on on the fence to continue - however their tech Terry has been great!!!!!

Have had only a few minor problems over the many years i have been a customer with Penny Wise. I would like to know why my friend who has a budget plan with auto delivery with Torrino's and paid $4.34 a gallon in December, and I am on a budget plan with auto delivery with you and was just charged $6.7590 a gallon. Why the big difference in price? I am a senior citizen on Social Security. I can't afford these prices. I can if I don't want to eat.

I have been a customer of PennyWise since 1996. They are reliable. Very reliable. Costs go up and down in the fuel industry, they still offer a ceiling price with their Budget plan. Customer servie is also very good. If your having an issue with your Oil company, try these guys.

A 12 yr. customer -- Pennywise took a card on file charging my BANK ACCOUNT, UNAUTHORIZED, WITHOUT MY PRIOR PERMISSION OR NOTIFICATION -- to pay a bill from 2 1/2 weeks ago. My BANK ACCOUNT EMPTIED, & checks are bouncing. I asked Pennywise WHO did this & was told "they don't give out names." I ask for a supervisor/manager -- told "no one was available" and refused to offer THAT name too, but they'd be told & I'd get a call back." ----TWO DAYS PASS, NO CALL.----- I call Pennywise again, & get same individual. I Identify myself, say a manager never called back, and AGAIN I request to speak to a manager. She says "I thought the matter was resolved," says "I hung up on her" when I hadn't, and again answers, "no one is available, but would you like to pay your bill." .......PAY MY BILL??? ---- She tells me "yes, I owe on a bill." I just reminded her that Pennywise ALREADY helped themselves to emptying my bank account 3 days ago WITHOUT any prior AUTHORIZATION, & that act is now destroying my credit! I inform her I filed a claim with the bank & an investigation will be done on their transaction. NOW she suddenly recalls a manager's first name (allegedly a manager) but of course they're "gone for the day." I left a voice mail message on a generic machine, doubting its even legit, or if it IS, "she" will soon erase it. So, current status: I am waiting for a response from a supervisor, and / or credit to my now messed up bank account, and for the bank to contact & investigate Pennywise's unethical procedure. I'm thoroughly disgusted from being stonewalled, probably because I've been speaking to the perpetrator who pulled out my bank card to take the money. I'm not sure, but "she" was privy to knowing when my bank card was previously used for a bill payment. Take heed if you are using this unprofessional service, because THEY CHARGE YOUR CARD & DON'T TELL YOU!! This post remains until a satisfactory resolution is reached. I hope the OWNER Jaylin sees this, because evidently it's the only way to reach you or anyone of credible authority.

I have always used pennywise for my home heating oil for many years now. I had some issues with a manager and he lacked customer service, however; I was transferred to their rep Jaylen and she is amazing. Ever since I will only deal with her whenever I call in as each time she takes care of me. I have not had a problem and I am grateful for the service that she always provides. It is always a pleasure dealing with someone who cares about the customer and does their job well. Hats off to Ms Jaylen.
