Associates were very nice and knowledgeable. They have items that the pet stores in the Niles area do not have. The only drawback is that the closest store is in Hermitage which is 20 miles away. Hopefully they would consider putting one on Elm Road. There are a lot of people who would shop Petco due to the convenience of not having to travel to Niles.

Best pet store in area. We have been using this store since we moved in Nov.22. Cleaner than the average pet store, extremely friendly staff. My larger dog attended training classes there and when every other groomer I called rejected her bc of her size and hearing she is water averted, the groomers there were all about her. They scheduled her to have area alone and made her day. At the time she was just under 2 years old and 160lbs. I can’t say enough about the staff we have encountered there.

Jess was super friendly. She knew alot about the animals and their tempments.. she knew each hamster individually. It was beautiful. She was super helpful with all 4 kids as they picked out their own new furry friends! Cages were super clean. Water and feed full. Plenty of toys and hides. Great experience!

This Petco isn't as big as I'm used to seeing but my experience was great. Interactions with staff were wonderful, everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I was able to get everything I needed and saved about $300 in the process thanks to my better half utilizing their price match policy.

Great place to get stuff for your pet. Got to hold a tarantula which was cool. They have great prices and friendly workers will definitely shop here again. I might get the tarantula he was just a lil guy.

This is, unfortunately, the closest Petco to where I live and needed to order my dogs food. Usually I order and my boyfriend picks it up, but today I was with him and went into the store. The older woman working was immediately rude. I wanted to make sure I had gone to/ordered at the right store, and she kept telling me, "This is the only one in town". I told her I don't live here, I need to know if my items are here, and she told me it's the only one. Seriously? She asked for my ID, so I just showed her, and she started to get them out of the box, so once I saw they were up there, I told her she could leave them there. I wanted to look around the store and could have saved her the time and trouble of unlocking the box if she had told me they were there, but she was being rude and just kept saying it was the only one in town instead of listening.Anyway, skip to the end, I'm trying to check out with another woman. Some people walk in with dogs. About 3 dogs, a young husky is really loud, and the older woman is at the other register mumbling something about loud dogs and glaring. Why are you working at an animal place if you have a problem with dogs barking? There was another issue with her jumping in with the woman helping me and them having major issue's trying to find my order when it was literally right there on the top shelf in front of them. I kept telling them it's right there, but no one was listening. This went on for a couple of minutes, me standing there telling them thats my order, them ignoring me trying to figure out how to do their job, and no one listening to me. It was really obnoxious.

We took our dog for a grooming appointment in October. When we picked him up, the first thing the groomer said was that everything had gone fine and that there were no problems. We brought him home and he was acting strange. He was extremely withdrawn and when we tried to pet him and our hands got near the back of his neck, he would yelp. We parted his fur trying to see if we could find anything. At that time there was nothing visible, or maybe we were not looking in quite the right spot. I called the grooming department and asked for the young man who had groomed him. I wanted to let him know how our dog was behaving and ask him again if he was sure that nothing had gone wrong. I was told that he was gone for the day. About a week or so later, we were petting him and felt a rough area around the back of his neck. We parted his fur and found black scabbing and as we parted his fur more to get a better look, his fur started falling out in that area. The area also appeared to have some yellow coloring. We took him to our vet who shaved the area. I told her about his behavior immediately following his last grooming visit and asked what could have caused it. She couldn't say for certain but thought that it could have been caused by either a burn or cut. She also said that the wound would result in that area of skin coming off. I now went back to the store with pictures of the injury and asked to speak with the manager. I explained that I wasn't seeking any kind of compensation, but wanted to explain the circumstances and make him aware that there was a strong possibility that our dog had been injured during a grooming session there. He was polite and asked me for information such as who the groomer was and what date was my dog's appointment and if I had asked for any special products to be used on my dog that had never been used before. I gave him the information and also stated that to my knowledge, no new products were used. I also let him know that my dog had been to the vet and what they had said. He said he would follow up with the groomer. There was no follow up call made to me to let me know if he was able to figure out what had happened. It has now been six weeks since my dog's appointment and the scabbed skin finally came off revealing another scab underneath, so he is still recovering. I rarely leave reviews and debated about leaving this one. I cannot irrefutably prove that our dog was injured during his grooming session. I only know that his behavior was completely normal when we dropped him off and was extremely abnormal after we picked him up. Then, shortly thereafter, an injury became visible. He was not left anywhere else without us present during that entire timeframe. He is an older dog so he is not super active and wouldn't have hurt himself playing. Again, I cannot prove he was injured during grooming but at the very least, the circumstances are, in my opinion, suspect which is why I finally decided to write this review and share my experience.

Went to buy additional supplies and equipment for my son's fish tank. The person who answered the intercom page to help me was immediately rude and began berating me for the size of my tank. He refused to help me purchase what I need and told me I must buy a new larger tank. He continued to lecture me about fish needs and tank sizes and told me the only thing he would do would be to print a care sheet for my fish if I wasn't getting a new tank and he would never have sold me a fish and/or a tank that size.I just bought the 10 gallon tank and all supplies from this very store not quite 3 months ago, with guidance from an employee. I have been back several times as well as my husband to buy more supplies, equipment, etc. Well over $200 in fish supplies. All for a goldfish my son won at the fair.Every time we've been back an employee has helped us get what we need and answer questions about our tank or fish and how to care for it all. Never has anyone criticized our tank size for our son's one goldfish and now one catfish. So obviously I told him I wouldn't be buying all new equipment again. He got more irate and went to find someone else to talk to me.Eventually another employee came to help me, and she was very apologetic for the way he was treating me, but my daughter and I decided it best to leave. We won't be returning. We went to Pet Supplies Plus after and got everything we needed and they were helpful and polite. Coincidentally, as I explaining what happened, another person there, told me this same employee from Petco had actually refused to sell them fish and was really nasty about it. I'm not sure why this person feels the need to treat customers this way but I hope he has better days ahead.

I avoid chain pet stores if possible but my dog needed food and this was the only place I could get it same day. The adoptable animals were in small, barren enclosures (I’m aware this is all Petco stores) and the cashier wasn’t super pleasant- especially after I didn’t sign up for the rewards program or donate to the humane society on the card reader. When I donate to causes I do so directly because I am not a lobotomite corporate greed denying zombie willing to participate in a tax write off. I’ve worked customer service in the past and I understand it’s not a pleasant job, but the cashier’s scoffing and comments were in my opinion unnecessary. I recommend going elsewhere if possible.
