We did the “historical tour” that takes roughly an hour and change. Very informative and entertaining for all ages. You get to see - Hershey Mansion, Farmhouse, schools, factories and more. All while in a climate controlled trolley bus.

November 23, 2024, my nephew and I bought the Sweet Lights Trolley tour for 6:20 pm. We stood in a big line. The guide, Emma, told us to get in the left lane for 6:20. The right lane was for 6:30 pm. The crowd shoved me into the left lane into a big woman who thought I was jumping the line. She yelled at me that I had to go to the back of the line because her "family" came first. I told Emma about the incident and all was resolved. I took the 6:30 trolley on the town tour. This place has enough money to install blazing red lights and a sound system alerting passengers what lane to stand in for the departing trolley. Never again!

The trolley ride was very informative and educational. There is a lot more to Hershey PA besides Chocolate World and Hershey Park. The tour was just the right amount of time without getting overwhelmed with information and boring. The reason for a 4 star review is that the heater was apparently broken on the trolley car. COATS were needed on the car although the advertisement states that the cars are heated. NOPE! The noise from the windows creaking and vibrating during the ride made it difficult at times to hear what was being said about the area that we were traveling in.

I just want to say I've had an exceptional customer service experience from the Hershey Trolley Works so far and to name Kurt Cisco (one of the trolley managers) who was so expedient in returning my calls and helping facilitate my 90-year-old mothers trolley trip to run safely and without any issues!
Wonderful event that everyone should try!
Kudos to Kurt and Hershey Trolley Works!

We did Hersheypark one day and then came to HersheyWorld the next. Were we found this hidden gem. Originally we were supposed to spend a few hours at HersheyWorld then head to Strasburg Pa for a train ride. However we decided to give this a try instead. And our party of 6, could all agree this was great decision. We did the 45 minute show/ride. They also have a 75 minute show that's more historical I believe. With the kids, we picked the show. We sang songs during the ride, we learned all about Hershey from the tour guide/ actors and laughed. I genuinely was impressed by the show. You can tell the Troller Work crew enjoyed their job and had a passion of theirs. I felt like I was watching a live show in theaters. Highly recommend.

The tour was very informative! I learned so many things about Hershey! Our tour guide was great! He made lots of jokes, and kept it entertaining! We also were given multiple pieces of chocolate!
My only complaint is there is no AC in the trolly, with no windows down. On a hot 90* day you are enclosed in an extremely hot little space with no air flow. The chocolate we were given was melting in our hands.

Trolley was a good idea until we got on it. It was 97 degrees and there was no AC in the trolley. No windows opened. And read the description on the each trolleys we didn’t realize we were on the 70 minute tour with toddlers. Do not go on this trolley with babies/toddlers. Felt like when they gave you candy was because we were quiet like a treat for animals.

Take the INFORMATIONAL trolley if you want a greater understanding and appreciation of founder Milton Hershey and what an INCREDIBLE philanthropist he was. His legacy lives on in his charitable institutions and educational facilities...to this VERY DAY. You'll also learn such interesting facts as: his wife "Kitty" was responsible for the introduction of the iconic "Hershey's Kiss" and that the combined production plants in Hershey, Pa. require 350,000 gallons of milk...A DAY to meet their candy making needs!

We took the 75 minute tour which was $23 a person. The conductors tell tacky jokes and you will receive five pieces of candy including a full size bar when you get off (although full size bars are a fraction of the size they used to be). This is not a balanced, unbiased historical tour about the Hershey company. This is very much a company propoganda tour. It is all about Milton Hershey and his "wonderous works". Anything negative or unpleasant is glossed over or left out. No mention of any of the worker strikes for example.
You will not see anything you cannot see driving your own car. The fact is Hershey is not a particularly attractive or historic town. You will see some industrial buildings that look like nothing. There is a lot of focus on the school he founded. I'd rather learn about things chocolate related. All in all we thought the tour was okay. It is very commercial and a bit pricy, but not too bad compared to the other attractions available. It killed some time when we were in the area, but I probably wouldn't recommend it.

Went on the 45 minute Trolley ride. 1st off the busses look like trolleys and beautiful. The bench wood seats do get a little rough after about 30 minutes though. Without giving too much away this is a 100% scripted show with a large devotion to Milton Hershey school. If you are getting on the bus when you walk in you should sit in the right for the best views. Although the Trolley makes several quick stops on the side of the road there is no time for the other side to take pictures if that's your primary goal.
Lots of things shown don't photograph well no matter what side of the bus you're on.
Lots of the same information is given if you go to the downtown museum just not as in depth as the museum.
On the bus we got 1 Hershey's Kiss, 1 mini Reese's cup an one Hershey fun size bar.
The 2 guides were well rehearsed but there is no time to ask questions the script goes the whole 45 minutes with songs to pass the time from point A to point B.
It was nice to go through places A you wouldn't have access too and B you just simply wouldn't know about.
This is entertainment first and foremost. I wish I had time for the history tour. Maybe next time.
Staff was AMAZING just wish the show wasn't as hokey as it was.

This was the 4th time I've done this tour in the past4 years (in for work, 4 different work peeps!). All 4 were very different, depending on who was the tour person. Today's was the worst. I love jokes & humor. Today's was filled with way good much cheesy humor that took away from the tour & I felt caused missing important information. The speaker was so loud, my purse was vibrating, granted I was about seat or 2 from the speaker. Both of us could not wait to get off the trolly. This tour seemed more of a comedy act than a historical tour.

One of the many things that Hershey Chocolate World offers. For $20 you get to go on a tour of Hershey, PA and get to hear the amazing story of Milton Hershey. You also get to hear about the Hershey boarding school that is 100 percent free for underprivileged families and offers an amazing education. You also get lots of chocolate. It’s great for chocolate lovers of all ages.

An interesting tour around Hershey with a history lesson on the tour....Two different types of trolley tour- 1 historical and 1 comical. We were on both at different times of year and enjoyed them. Christmas is a special time to take the evening tour with all the Christmas lights.
