Dealing with Corporate is a hassle since you won't get to speak with a real person; everything is automated. It feels like they prioritize profit over customer satisfaction. If you decide to use their services, make sure to keep all your receipts and document every interaction, just in case something goes wrong. My experience taught me that small business franchises can be tricky, so it's better to find a reliable mechanic for any work you need done. I visited the location at 5120 NJ-38, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109, and I can tell you they care more about making money than taking care of their customers. What a scam.

Terrible experience at east brunswick location. The "manager" lures me in with free estimate, they finally.look at the car and takes advantage of my husband telling him he has to do a diagnostic to give an estimate it's going to cost it's not free so my husband agrees. After the work is done the manager refuses to give an estimate or the report of the diagnostic because he looked up our cars warranty AFTER HE DID THE DIAGNOSTIC and saw itnwas covered. I was upset I called him, he talked circles around me blaming my husband, he gaslit me to the point where I was apologizing. After all of it i realized I paid 200.00 for nothing, no report and no estimate. I called corporate and they said they would follow up on last Thursday and it's now Monday and no follow up. I reviewed the location and they chose to answer my google reviews with lies and a fabricated story to fit their narrative. They made false implications about my husband and flat out lied. What a great example of what NOT to do! such terrible customer service. Corporate response was a joke. I have brought my car to many other companies and services stations and never ever had i been charged 200 to have just my car checked. someone recommended i bring it to them cuz they might have offered a cheaper alternative but what a mistake that was. They should be embarrassed.

Absolutely horrible experience with Aamco in Illinois (Des Plaines). Transmission went bad after less than a year, Aamco refused to honor warranty & charged me another $4000 on top of the $6000 I paid a year ago. Tried many times to escalate at corporate level but no one will talk to you. I kept getting the run around. Not to mention they had my car over 2 weeks! Don’t recommend them to ANYONE. No customer care focus, only how much they can charge you or rip you off. Customer service is absolutely non-existent!

AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care
Address: 125 Cambridge St, Charlestown, MA 02129
DO NOT USE THIS AAMCO!!!! PLEASE READ AND SEE ATTACHED INVOICES FROM 2 OTHER SHOPS.
I wish i can give 0 stars... please read before using this aamco.
Mike overcharged me for a transmission rebuild ( i am out of state) i approved of the work though because i had no choice. Total price $6494.72.
After picking up the vehicle we made it aprox 250 miles till the vehicle got stuck on the road again with the same exact problem.. It got towed to another aamco location, who was working with mike at this location to fix it. I was getting the run around for over a month, they could not fix it.
I took it to a local mechanic shop twice, where they came to the conclusion that the transmission rebuild was done improperly and needs to be replaced again. Vehicle was towed back to aamco again and they said " The problem is electrical and its not the transmission"
I eventually paid $1500 to get the vehicle towed back to new york. I brought it to my local Transmission shop who removed the transmission, took it apart, took pictures of everything that was done. The oil pump inside the transmission was damaged, which was causing the clutches to fail, thus complete failure of the transmission.
My local Transmission shop was able to repair the transmission within a week, total rebuild price was $4200. ( alot cheaper than this location)
Not only was their price $2,000 over, but their work was absolutely garbage.
So because i used this shop.. between their bill, the transmission shop that actually fixed it, diagnostic charges at another shop and towing bills, i spent over $12,000 total for a transmission.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND FIND ANOTHER SHOP.
Mike refuses to do the right thing here because "something doesn't add up" That's the response that i got from him.
Of course something doesn't add up, Because my transmission that i paid for wasn't rebuilt properly and i have two different shops telling me the same thing... After getting it rebuilt by my usual local transmission shop here in New York the Vehicle is driving perfectly...

Took wife's car into lafayette,IN for transmission waited almost a month to get it back and when we did get it back parts and bolts missing and exhaust not tight. Took it back next day they said they fixed it but got it back and still not fixed. Called headquarters they wanted me to drive it 2 1/2 to have it fixed at different shop. When asked them to tow it and give a rental car lady said not happening. After this nightmare of not having a car for a month then getting it back and still unsafe to drive I wouldn't trust them to touch my car again and terrible company to not stand behind your work or franchise.

The most useless corporate office ever, don’t even waste your time trying to file a complaint with them. They do nothing. There is no accountability for their franchisees, and it seems the only possible avenue is pursuing a lawsuit.

They offer an interest free car care credit card for 12 months and did not honor this term and said it was for 6 months which doubles the monthly payment. This is a "bait and switch scam. Beware of falling for this tactic.

Dropped off my work truck to get a diagnostic for a noise from the bell housing and to change rear main seal . I was call 3x to pick up and was told it’s leaking transmission fluid so I could not get vehicle . They pulled out transmission to replace flex plate and rear main seal . So 3 xs I could not get business truck and lost a lot of money . Then get truck back to have rear main seal leaking . Bring to shop to be told we are waiting on lifts. Then brought back on the 11 Sept to get truck looked at and was told on the 12 Sept they are behind . I arrived on September 12 to find my truck ram sacked and items missing and yet the truck was locked . I lost a lot of money and time due to this shops doings.

After having a good experience with AAMCO at Town Center in Virginia Beach, I had my daughter take her car there for repairs. Between myself and my daughter, on 3 different occasions - all within a month - each time but once new problems would be identified that were not covered by the warranty. The last time they performed an engine flush and oil change, put in the notes on the receipt BUT NEVER VERBALLY INFORMED US that the oil drain plug was "compromised" (read: threads stripped) and they didn't install a crush washer. I went to install the crush washer and found the drain plug was stripped and had the car towed back to them. Both the garage service manager and the corporate office are taking the stance that since it was in the notes and we didn't take it to them to install the crush washer, they are not going to do anything for her except charge her another large sum of money to replace the oil pan. I thought I had found a garage I could trust for future work, instead I found a place that has seemingly taken advantage of myself and my daughter.

The mechanic left out 3 bolts to the back to the transmission. One month after warranty ran out the transaxle broke out of the engine mount and made a crack in the transmission. The mechanic cut corners to bump it out fast as he is paid flat rate not hourly. He damage my new cv axle and I didn’t notice it until the warranty ran out. $4000 dollars for garbage work. Shady place to have repairs done. The whole transaxle had to be replaced.

My car was at AAMCO of Vineland NJ for a transmission to be installed initially I was paying cash and was told it would be completed in two days after I decided not to pay cash I waited for 3 plus months. I was not giving any accurate updates and had to go to the store numerous times to no avail. When my car was finally ready to be picked up I was told that I had a balance of $500 plus dollars that had to be payed before I could take my car . The $500 was for a part that I did not give consent to put on nor did I sign any paper work . After this I was only offered an $100 deduction for the part that was put on without consent.

In April 2023 dropped truck at hightstown nj aamco apparently the owner mark was taking deposits fast forward to June 2023 and after leaving 2500 deposit aamco shut location down no call from corporate they then towed truck to East Bruh aamco where it was a back and fourth lies on a new transmission that was coming in come to find out they stalled me another 2 months and had me pay the 2k balance only to find out after having a shop double check everything they put a used transmission in the truck asked numerous times and emailed for someone from corporate to reac. to me with no success so they charged me 4500 for a rebuild which ended up being a used trans now I will be suing both locations and corporate for fraud theft of services. And time lost do not use aamco better off having dealer install new factory. Attached is the $4500 “custom rebuilt transmission straight from the junk yard just got my truck back. 9/2/23 from april
