Indiana Mall is the only mall in Indiana, PA. It is a functioning facsimile of a bygone era, with features like yellow and orange tile benches, skylights, fountains, and leafy shrubbery that present an 80s aesthetic glory. While stores come and go all the time and many have closed or moved out, it is still not bad considering how malls are closing elsewhere. It remains a functioning place with a couple bigger stores like JCPenney and Kohl's, alongside others such as Dunhams, Claire's, GNC, Kay's, Auntie Anne's, and a Nail Salon. Dunhams is noted as a nicer newer store with a great selection, seen as a big plus for outdoor supplies. The mall includes arcade-adjacent options, mall security, a dedicated office, and well-kept bathrooms. Employees in the stores are described as courteous, knowledgeable, and genuine. People find it very nice to see the mall still working, offering a human element sometimes missed in modern shopping. Despite changes, it holds nostalgia for many who remember it being packed, especially at Christmas time.
Like many malls, business isn't what it has been in the past. However, that allows for small businesses to have a home. The Theater and anchor stores like Khol's and Harbor Freight keep the mall going. It is a great place to walk when the weather isn't conducive to outdoor activities.
