Food was horrible. The four of us had severe nausea and stomach cramps after dining here. Never returning here. Skeletons in the front of the restaurant, and had a marijuana dispensary behind it. Must have been the reason why the cooks did such a terrible job. Very dirty as well. Piano player was really nice and sweet though.

Yum, yum. Mushroom and spinach soup was to die for. Good chicken tenders, pulled pork, chicken and brisket. Friendly service. Eclectic decor.

We had a great experience visiting The Mad Hatter during WinterFest! The atmosphere was so fun and our food was very good too. The place is eclectic, but that’s just one of the many things we loved about it. Sarah was a great server and our piano player was AMAZING!! Not to mention the cutest pup laying by the fire ?

Serious? 3.5 stars?!!! This place was AMAZING!!! That crab soup was to die for, literally the best soup we’ve ever had :) My wife and I got the pulled pork and brisket and OMGGGGG it was so delicious!! Can’t wait to come back :) Do NOT let the negative stars turn you away… they’re simply not true at

Please stop serving food. If you’re looking to be ripped off and disappointed this is the spot. Baked beans were Campbell’s out of thecan. Why is all the wine chilled?? I think my side of apple sauce was a snack pack . Shame.

My daughter and I ate there today and we loved it. The whimsical decor is awesome. The dog sleeping by the fire was adorable. When we arrived the gentleman (I assume he's the owner) sat us immediately. He let me taste the crab soup when I was inquiring. It's absolutely delicious with no shortage of crab meat- only $7 for a big cup.My daughter loved her food. We shared a quesadilla and it was amazing. Totally fresh, flakey shell, just the right combo of peppers. We loved the town and will return to The Mad Hatter.P.s. leaving a mom and pop shop a bad review based on anything political is wrong. Many businesses never recovered from lock downs and closed up and are still struggling today. Hats off to the folks at The Mad Hatter. You're doing a fine job.

Sarah was an amazing hostice! The food was great and Dave brought an extra bit of warmth with his piano playing. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Don't forget to rub that frenchie's belly...

Stopped by for an impromptu breakfast and had great tasting affordable food! Super-friendly service and eclectic decorations completed this charming style. We also got entertained by the lovely piano player. Tight space but the atmosphere made up for it!

This place is wild. First the good: the woman who was serving was lovely, came to check on us a few times and was very friendly. However, before she arrived, there was only one person working, it took forever to get even a plastic cup of water. The seating and tables are horrendously uncomfortable, there's an adorable French bulldog wandering around even into the kitchen, all disposable plates, cutlery, cup, etc. the menu is odd and the food was pretty rough: dry, overcooked and obviously reheated to be tough and unpleasant. The chicken biscuit was actually burnt, like black on the bottom. Even my daughter's grilled cheese sandwich wasn't good. I guess the heat doesn't work and there were space heaters and extension cords everywhere. There was a nice gentleman playing the piano and singing, which was an odd touch for such a small restaurant at 5 pm. It was overall a bizarre experience that I don't recommend.

Had the Brisket Sandwich with Homemade Apple Sauce & Homemade Wine - Best meal during our stay in Jim Thorpe by far. We had the pleasure of enjoying our meal during a slow, snowy evening with the owners and Sarah and couldn’t have been treated better. Great place to eat - a must try for anyone staying in or traveling through JT.

Are my Po Boy catfish sandwich was very tasty. The atmosphere was charming, but the wait for the food was a little long. Overall, it was a satisfying dinner.

If the cramped spacing wasn't bad enough, the service made it worse. It was wonderful to not be given silverware, or napkins, and to be served soggy food as though it had been sitting. Consideration for the customer was not there. The only good part of the experience was the pianist.
