I like to shop local where I can and support small family businesses. I frequent this location often for everything from shovels to paint to screws. They carry top tier power equipment and grills. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful!
Please note that local businesses cannot always compete with the pricing paradigm of big box stores (the lower rated reviews re: pricing are unfair in my opinion). However, you’ll often find items on sale at this location and I find most prices are pretty competitive. So happy we have a great hardware store near the borough!

Since they opened, Kennet Ace Hardware has been a lifesaver. Staff have been consistently friendly and helpful. On the rare occasions I can’t find what I need in stock, I can order it to be delivered to the store in a reasonable timeframe. I’ve bought small items, and big ticket items, and I always get excellent service.

We purchased a small home safe and wanted a second one so we ordered another one at the store. We have seen them at Lowe's and home Depot but we like to support local businesses and have been shopping here at this ace on the regular we live right here in Kennett. So we get a call tonight the safe is in and when can we pick it up ? We say Friday morning no the staff member says ok then I say I can pick it up tomorrow possibly at noon on my lunch but might be by five pm mind you did I say we shop there and are supporting the business and this guy says no we cannot hold it till five what seriously? I am in the customer service business and to me this is totally unacceptable I will be taking my hard earned money somewhere else this store couldn't even hold this second safe we ordered for under 24 hours ridiculous in my book shameful and ignorant!

While the service was very good the prices were a lot more than competitors. In todays economy every penny counts. I should have checked prices before my shopping trip. Paid 35% more at the Kennett Sq. Ace. Will not be going back.

Every single time I go to this Ace Hardware the staff is extremely helpful. I’m not sure how they hire people that are so ready and willing to serve. It’s so much appreciated especially when I can always speak a hardware language.
