Something about the sensation of walking into a local hardware store back in the 70’s, it was the smell of metal, grease or perhaps some magical bottled sent:) ! But the best part was being greeted by the owner each and every time you went (most likely using your first name)
This is what you experience when you walk into Ace Hardware of Kennett and more!
I recently called to ask an expert about leaf blowers and Debbie the cashier answered. I asked to speak to Drake one of the knowledgeable employees and she recognized my voice and asked how I was doing!!!!
When does that happen????!!! She got Drake and he walked me through options (very knowledgeable) and helped me decide what was best for my needs. Not only that but he delivered to my house.
P.S
Drake called shortly after I paid online to ask if I wanted him to unbox my battery/backpack blower so he could assemble it and charge the batteries before delivery!!!!!!!!
Wow!!!
So there you have it, if you want custom, friendly, knowledgeable, honest help from a hardware store do yourself a favor

I entered the store about 20 minutes before closing but was greeted by a manager cursing at me under his breath. Aside from him, Brendan was great, and the prices aren’t bad. Apparently 20 minutes before close is not good enough though. It’s unfortunate that people with his attitude have made it so far in a customer service business.

Just wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Andrew he is the perfect employee! We purchased a battery operated sprayer from Ace which did not work! Called the store spoke with Andrew who gave us some things to try and said if that didn’t work bring it back he would look at it. We brought it back he tried to figure it out still didn’t work so he exchanged it and got us back on our way! He actually cared about our business and said he didn’t want us sitting there when we can be out making money! Very caring and respectful! Awsome employee! Ace is blessed to have him!

Steve, Andrew, Dan and Debbie were great! .
Steve was the perfect employee - he recognized that I needed help with setting up the back of a picture for hanging.
He started the process and even walked me to my car and place the picture into my car!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Bought a mower here today and it had a manufacturing issue. After calling the store they instructed me to bring the mower back. Initially I was thinking I was going to have to deal with the manufacturer so I was a bit grumpy at that outcome. Drake and his associate looked over the mower and called a local mower repair shop who helped them make a small adjustment which fixed the issue. Very happy with that outcome and that they stuck with me to help get me back to mowing my lawn. Will definitely be back knowing I can trust these folks.

I like to shop local where I can and support small family businesses. I frequent this location often for everything from shovels to paint to screws. They carry top tier power equipment and grills. The entire staff is very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful!
Please note that local businesses cannot always compete with the pricing paradigm of big box stores (the lower rated reviews re: pricing are unfair in my opinion). However, you’ll often find items on sale at this location and I find most prices are pretty competitive. So happy we have a great hardware store near the borough!
