“As a member of the community, I was totally surprised by the professionalism that the Salvation Army staff showed during Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was a beautiful experience watching the Salvation Army staff bring joy, happiness, and dignity to so many parents, grandparents, and children. The community thanks you for all the hard work and time you sacrifice to make children happy. Thank you for all your services.”
“I visited this church for the first time on Sunday. My 20 year old son was being baptized, along with five other people. Everyone was so kind, engaging, and genuine. As soon as I walked in two gentlemen greeted us. One asked where I purchased my African garb from. I replied that I got it in Phila. He enthusiastically said they're from Phila. They talked about the "old neighborhood" for some time. They invited me to the Diversity service the following Sunday. They bought also mentioned that they are Veterans. I mentioned that I have been serving Veterans for 30+ years at the VA. Once we got upstairs to the sanctuary and service. I felt so at home. I loved it and really enjoyed the singing, music and message. As I was leaving Sis Erma offered me some meals for the drive back to Phila. I learned that she is from Phila also...actually my old neighborhood. We had a sweet and wholesome conversation. This church reminds me of churches in the South. I left thinking, "this church is the South of the North". I am pleased that my son was lead BSBC.”
