I am writing to express my disappointment and frustration regarding the experience I had at your 2350 Lincoln HWY East STE 600 Lancaster PA 17602 on 1/13/2025. I had scheduled an appointment for my puppy to be bathed at 2:30 PM. Following your guidelines, I dropped him off at 2:00 PM. However, when I returned around 3:40 PM to check on him—after not receiving any update—I was disheartened to find that he was still in a kennel and his bath had not even started.
When I inquired about the delay, I was informed that the manager would complete his bath by 5:00 PM. I noticed that the manager was still working on the same dog they had when I dropped my puppy off. There were two groomers on staff—the manager and another employee—but the second groomer declined to work on my puppy, stating that she had already completed six dogs that day.
This experience was both unprofessional and highly inconvenient. If an appointment is scheduled for a specific time, I expect my pet to be attended to at or near that time. As a professional hairdresser, I understand that services like grooming can take time, and I always ensure my schedule allows for the necessary attention to each client without overlapping appointments. I would expect the same level of care and planning from your team.
If grooming services run behind schedule or a groomer is overbooked, the online scheduling system should reflect this by blocking the necessary time. This adjustment would prevent customers from experiencing unnecessary delays and frustration.
I chose Petco for your reputation and the care you promise for our beloved pets. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below those expectations. I kindly request an explanation and would appreciate steps being taken to ensure this does not happen to other customers in the future. I also believe an apology and appropriate resolution are warranted for the inconvenience caused.

A team of people working with animals.. you'd think they'd be animal people & aware of certain breeds or how to approach dogs. Took my 4 month old GSD here for the last time. When the check in lady tried to put the leash on my puppy, she didn't approach him correctly at all then when he started barking at her, she responded with "you have to nip that in the bud". I didn't correct him because as someone who "has had shepherds," you should know how to approach them, especially a puppy that is clearly timid & unsure of what's happening. When I tried explaining that he's just simply reactive right now because he's still learning, she got snarky. She claimed to have had shepherds (which I highly doubt with her inappropriate approach). Lol but then he loved the lady next to her who DID approach him correctly, who was also the only friendly employee there. Completely different experience every time we go to Petsmart, which is why my pup is less reactive & a lot more happy going there. Will not be returning.

Store overall seemed kind of a mess, but it's possible they got a shipment changing over the store, unsure. Found what I needed (liquid bandage for dogs) and the cashier was friendly and efficient

Closes at 8 which I feel is kind of early and they have a much smaller selection of dog foods than other competitors. Place was also kind of dirty. Ok for emergency needs but I would plan to shop elsewhere Given a choice

Prices are kinda pricey but everything looks clean and you can get most of what your looking for,cashier when I went a couple days ago was polite and had a very nice smile towards every customer we need more of her in stores ☺️other employees walking around was not helpful not even had intentions to help look for a snack for cats I was looking for and couldn't see where it was or at least tell me if it was available in the store..that's why I give a 4 star.

A classic pet store with an array of items, including pets for purchase. Like any pet store, the animals aren't kept in the best conditions, but they seemed healthy. The prices here are VERY high compared to Wal-Mart or Target. Unless you're looking for a specialty item, I recommend looking elsewhere.

They have a lot of stuff here to pick from. They have crickets. It's a cheap litter program for cats, and it seems like the owner or someone is actually involved.

Good variety of dog, cat, and fish supplies. Reptile, avian, and small mammal supplies/diets not so much. The vast majority of animals appear healthy, but unfortunately, there are still one or two dead/dying fish and sniffly parakeets each time I go. Tanks and cages appear clean, and water/food is present where appropriate. Prices tend to be higher than what I can find elsewhere online. This seems to be especially true for dog/cat food.
