The process for signing up with Naca has been easy and it's easy to get people on the phone for questions. Getting insurance is a super quick process too. I havent had to file a claim yet but I did want to note a few things. 1. You MUST require a signature on all packages. This should be up front and center but it's buried in the exclusions. No signature service means denial of claim. So factor in an extra $6 for Fed Ex signature service per package. 2. It basically seems to mainly cover loss form theft or fire. Other damage doesn't really seem to be covered too well, though it does offer some if it can be proved there was negligence. 3. Flooding & Earthquakes not covered. 4. NOT COVERED - Loss or damage caused by leakage, marring, scratching, creasing, denting, corrosion, rust, tearing, thinning, fading, transfer of colors, wear, tear, inherent defect, dampness, extremes of temperature other than fire, insects, vermin, gradual deterioration and depreciation, or damage sustained while being worked upon from handling. 5. Max value of 10k if you ship out on a Friday, or on the eve of a holiday. (Even if your policy was approved for more. If they haven't, they should probably re-write their software to prevent authorizing higher policies shipping on out on a Friday / Holiday) In closing I guess I'd say it's hard to find a carrier who will ship a painting for over $1,000, so I may keep using NACA / ShipandInsure.com - but at $100 a year plus $10 per policy (factoring in the $6 signature service) I also may look in to just adding a land/marine/air freight rider to my current biz policy. Will have to weigh the costs.
