I am totally struggling to find my next camera but carson, who works there, was so nice and helpful! I have not made a decision yet, but he was definitely helpful and kind! And did not try to talk me into the most expensive camera- which was refreshing!

I have been a loyal customer of Allen for over 15 years. The entire staff is absolutely wonderful. They love what they do, and are knowledgeable beyond belief in the art of photography and all camera / equipment brands. I do not go anywhere else for my camera needs; Allen’s in my first and only stop.

My new favorite photo store. Every employee I've talked to there has been extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and fun to talk with. They don't upsell you, don't make you feel rushed when you're testing gear, and don't make you feel like you're asking too many questions. I would just as likely suggest Allen's to a professional as I would someone who has never taken a photo in their life, they have something for everyone. They gave me a fantastic price on my trade in, too! I only wish I had discovered them sooner.

Wonderful personnel (knowledgable and kind), well stocked inventory and fair trade in values. Handle every major camera brand. They helped me to transition from one camera system to another. Great place!

I just got a weird vibe with this place. Definitely not the warmest or friendly folks. One guy is really cool (bearded fella) all of the others seems like they have to warm up to you before the air gets light. Knowledgeable staff, great selection, prices are fair. Just be prepared to do your business, get in and get out of there.

The reviews are right, this place ROCKS.I'm horrible with names but I think it was Jesse who helped me. He was great. The rest of the staff would chime-in at times, which was encouraging and helpful.They took their time with an amateur like me, helped explain a few things I knew little about, let me try a few lenses before I made a decision. They were careful with my camera as they put the lenses in.They were invested in my time, and I had their full attention during the sales process. This was great. I felt a human connection at Allens that you won't get from a big-box store.They showed me alternatives when I talked about price-points, and really made me feel like they cared about the customer experience.They have a clean and stocked showroom of lots of accessories, lenses, filters, etc. They make really good use of the space.10/10 I will definitely come here for future purchases / advice / accessories, cleaning and service. I want to congratulate them on running such an A+ operation. Support your local businesses!

I’ve been going here for years for all my photography needs and they basically never disappoint. Everyone is very kind, informative, and truly just want you to have the best gear that’s right for you. I went recently to get a new camera after 5 years with my Canon 70D and Jessie (I hope that’s how you spell it?) was SO SO helpful. He answered all my questions, gave helpful advice, offered suggestions that aligned with what I needed, etc. Very good experience, they haven’t led me wrong yet lol

Got scammed by Allen’s camera. DO NOT BUY ONLINE. I bought something online and it was broken once I got it. I don’t know if it was already broken when they sent it or during delivery but it wouldn’t turn on when I got it (checked multiple batteries that were working in the same product I ordered elsewhere). They told me it is the customers responsibility to pay for return shipping even if you weren’t given what you ordered. Sad that I was scammed but I didn’t want to deal with the problem any more, figured I’d warn others that may be looking at buying something online from here. Please don’t, look elsewhere unless you want a headache. They are probably fine to buy from in person, just make sure what you are buying works before you check out. Never before have I had to pay money for the pleasure of having to waste my time and ship a broken product back to get back my money.

Love Allens!!! ? I make the drive from NJ to come here. Always wonderful staff. They are super helpful and know everythinggggg about cameras! Great stock including new & impressive used stock. I have gotten multiple used pieces and they always are in great shape! Lots of gear, lighting euip, bags, you name it! Its a photographers wonderland!

Very fast and prompt service, also part of my order was not in stock and instead of just canceling my whole order like some places they contacted me immediately and updated and refunded me for the items not in stock. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

"Allen's Camera" a business name that got stuck in my head after watching hundreds of Jared Polin's aka "Fro knows photo" videos on YouTube, and when the time came for me to get real with photography, I went on every major online retailer website and added all items I needed, price wise they were similar but Allen's is 30 minutes away.I DM Jared asking if I might get a discount, and I was told to see Brandon and that they will do their best. I also prefer to support a small local business.At the store, I was helped by Fillippe and Brandon, who were very kind and helpful. My luck was great because I bought my gear during a canon promotion that saved me around $1300, and I traded in my old 80D and the kit lens for a good price.I love my R5 and the glass I got.Thank you Jared, Fillippe and Brandon

READ RETURN POLICY. I bought a $6000 Leica camera and after using it inside my house the day after arrival (with less than 20 shutter actuations), I wrote Brandon who told me it would be 20 percent restocking fee. So I’d be paying $1250 for unboxing the camera and returning it 1 day later. It’s just unethical. I opened the box and the camera already didn’t feel like the right fit. I took photos of light in the house. Not a good camera. I’m going to speak to my local Leica sales rep and show the photos. Maybe it’s faulty and was sold to me. I do not know. i could see paying 10 percent considering these circumstances but 20 in this case is highly unethical. I bought a $7000 Leica body from Allen’s a few years back. I’m a professional Leica shooter. They clearly don’t care about customer loyalty. I wanted to start again supporting a local mom and pops store considering I buy a lot of gear but I understand why these places are dying out and will over time. Poor and unethical treatment towards a loyal customer paying for high end gear is poor business practice. even B and H is much better with costumer service. Thankfully I’m connected to a large photo and galley scene here in NYC and abroad and when am asked where to buy will no longer recommend Allen’s
