we have been loyal customers of Giant foods and giant pharmacy in Maple Glen for 32 years, going back to when it was originally Maple Glen Pharmacy.
never had an issue on those 32 years until recently.
A new pharmacist named John started working there recently. I had the most unpleasant interaction with him that I've had with any pharmacist ever. He is very unprofessional.
After a disagreement, the following day I went to pick up my wife's prescriptions. I had no intention of speaking to him. He charged the window, Yelling at me, so angry that he was shaking. Totally unprovoked.
I've been practicing medicine for 33 years, and in all that time I have never dealt with someone so aggressively rude, neither personally nor professionally.
I will never go back to that pharmacy.
i've complained about him to the store manager and Giant corporate, and they brushed me off.

I’ve been going to this pharmacy for several years now and I have to say it’s always a great experience. The pharmacist always goes above and beyond especially at times when there may be a mixup with my many prescriptions. The support staff is always ready to help and professional. I’ve been to several other pharmacies and this one is by far the best.

I had a horribly disappointing experience with this Pharmacy today. I was having trouble finding a prescription and have been a long term customer of Giant. I thought I would check if they had the prescription and could switch it there with my other ones so it was one stop shopping at the grocery store. The night before I went in and confirmed with the pharmacist on duty that they had the medicine I was looking for and they said that they did. Then the next morning I went back to my doctor and had them resend the prescription through to Giant. I then called to get it filled as it is needed and was told by the person on duty that they wouldn’t refill my prescription as I’m a new customer and they save the pills for ongoing customers. I was kind of horrified by that rationale and was confused why I was told one thing and then another happened. I’m also curious if the person I spoke to today has a specific friend or family member they are saving it for. So given the confusion at this pharmacy about what is or isn’t available, the tiering system where existing patients get priority for medications over new patients, that and possibly friends/family of the pharmacists get priority over other existing customers, I wouldn’t recommend using this pharmacy at all. I actually don’t think I will return to Giant in general given this treatment. Who knows, maybe when you go in to buy bread or milk and they aren’t carrying it, they have reserved it for more loyal customers or friends and family.

It seems like this Giant is getting trash reviews on Yelp.Here is the low down. It is a very small Giant location, unintended oxymoron, for those of us that are type A personalities and pay attention to detail.The deli section has a new kiosk so you may place your order without talking to humans (bonus!). That being said if you do choose to engage with the associates it does seem to take a while to get your meats and cheeses, all the while other people waiting in the area hoping your putting your last deli order in so they can start theirs. This is the case in any Acme, Giant, or store that serves up deli meats though so nothing new about this.The star rating here I could have opted to give three stars as the checkout lines can be mildly annoying at times but the trade off for this is, it is not a huge store, which makes it easier to run in and get a few essentials and run out.As always people SYOY!!!

Always go above and beyond, repeatedly contacting doctors office for refills. And letting me know if the doctor is not responding so I can call the office. The first time I filled diabetes meds the pharmacist spent a lot of time giving me information on the disease. Very conscientious staff!!

This is what I got in market frozen section today how is frozen molded? It was thawed then placed on shelf disgusting!! Look at your food this is sad they sell food like this! Worst I know they sell outdated food, I should have looked but frozen??

I live just behind the Giant shopping center in Maple Glen. Yes, the store is on the small side but I think they do a good job considering their size. The staff is helpful, the shelves are always stocked, the selection is good for the size of the store, the store is clean and will run. It's great for this area to have such a convenient grocery store.

Excellent pharmacy doctors and staff! They go above and beyond to give you what you need. When I had problems with my vision Dr Chuck helped me fill out my paperwork. I was so moved by his kindness. Thank you all for being wonderful. I appreciate you.
