“No offense, this is an honest review.
We chose to work with Stellar Mortgage company out of many morgage companies for the following reasons:
1. One of the best interest rate offers.
2. Steve seemed very trustworthy, businesslike and reliable.
We realized our dream and bought a house thanks to this company, thank you so much!!!
However, the process itself was not very smooth. When our case was handled by Steve's team and not himself, there were problems that no one was eager to solve until we push it ourselves.
We learned all the steps of getting a morgage from our real estate agent, not from Steve's team. Our case was handled by 4-5 people and no one could explain anything clearly. The documents that we sent to one of them, the other one didn't receive, everything was constantly mixed up, as a result we got a very bad commitment, which Steve's team sent to the seller's real estate agent for some reason, after which this party panicked. They were demanding documents from us that were not up to us but the work of Steve's team. We felt like we were between a hammer and anvil. When we finally found out that David was responsible for our case, he just wouldn't talk to us - he never contacted us once during the whole time. The only one who got in touch was his assistant, who was surprised that the wrong documents had been sent to the underwriter by mistake. When we tried to clear things up, Carina on Steve's team would ask "Who is this girl?", "You're not my bosses so I have to report to you". We were shocked by this attitude towards customers. She started asking questions like what kind of business the husband had, like we hadn't gotten preapproval yet. And we have a contract closing in a couple days. Our house was on the line. Unfortunately until the last moment we were in limbo and were not sure if we would get a loan for the house.
Perhaps if we were buying a super expensive house, Steve's team would be nicer, but that's a very poor indicator if your attitude depends on it.
All ended well, but if you ask me if we would have wanted to go through a similar experience knowing the outcome, I would say no. Nevertheless, we have retained sympathy for Steve, so I give 4 stars rather than the 2 or one that his team deserves in handling our case. If he makes an effort, he can improve the teamwork and especially the attitude towards customers, which I wish him to do. Anyway thanks for the experience.”

“Over a period of several months, I received many phone calls from financial institutions wanting my business because I was looking to refinance my very high-interest rate mortgage.
