One of my favorite places to get fresh products. Try their freshly roasted peanuts you won't be sorry. Also if you need some local info theses guys are encyclopedias of local knowledge.

I have been going to this market every year for over 20 years. It was in a building right beside where it have its tents now. The older gentleman was always kind and courteous. The last few years it is mostly being run by a younger man. Possibly his son. He made a comment this year and I have had enough. He was talking to someone. Told them he had to go and fleece the tourists. He was looking right at us. I have spent a few hundred dollars there every year. Well no more. The produce is no longer the quality it was and he has “fleeced” me for the last time. Example. Bought half a bushel of peaches. Charged me $42. Then I saw him take out peaches and he was “fixing” the box. When I said something he added another peach. Bought a half bushel of tomatoes for canning and as I was trying look he kept showing me the same two tomatoes or something. He closed it. I got it home and the whole bottom of them were rotten. Pushy salesmanship and sketchy. Watch yourselves “tourists”.

Best subs around and fun to go down on the river for a relaxing lunch at a picnic table in the shade with the lovely Barbara Jean
