I have been a customer of Santander since they bought out Waypoint Bank. The Mechanicsburg, PA location is where I usually bank. The teller knows me for years and we have had conversations about life and families; however, she asked me for my license a month ago when I was depositing $900 cash?! Making me feel like a criminal?! Seriously?!Then, I went to their drive thru this past Saturday and the sign said “closed” so I drove around and parked and went inside. The same teller that knows me said hello- but after all these years-saying hello and my name would be so nice. Even the butcher at Karns says Hi Rosie.I had a third party check for $182 to deposit with some cash. My husband signed the check over to me since I was going to the bank anyway and we had overpaid the dentist. My husband is not on my account and this teller proceeds to tell me she could not accept this check? Why? My husband signed it over to me and I said she can call him? She said it’s another Santander policy that changed.I never received notice of the change and it’s not like I was depositing a $10K check. It was only $182. I left and drove to another Santander just because I didn’t want to make the rest of my deposit at that branch. The teller proceeded to tell me in Camp Hill very nicely that I could have deposited that third party check on my mobile app. into my account. At least she offered some help. The other teller in Mechanicsburg-who knows me and she has been there for years-did not offer that solution. Again, made me feel like a criminal trying to deposit a $182 refund check from our dentist. If I can write an obituary for customer service-I would-as customer service is dead.

I don’t even want to give a “one star” rating. Called, left a message and no return call. Santander just missed out on a 100k investment. Great job S. My loot isn’t worth much, I guess. NOT recommended.

Definitely Not Recommend To Deal With! Monday night after flying to pa from out of state I stopped at Santander bank on Simpson street in mechanicsburg to use there ATM to get cash out with my debit card and after agreeing to there $3.00 fee to use there ATM to get cash out and entering the correct PIN number there ATM kept my debit card and displayed Card Captured transaction canceled, so I call the 24 hour service number on the front of the ATM and I get told to come in to the bank in the morning with ID to get your Card, well I live an hour away from this branch and only stopped there because I was on my way back from the airport and it was along my route. So i called the bank in the morning before driving an hour to the branch and a young guy answers the phone and proceeds to tell me that the cards are shredded first thing in the morning and that it's there policy to shred all the cards that get kept by the ATM for whatever reason and that hes sorry about that but there's nothing he can do. So here I am stuck in PA with no cash because this banks Atm decided to keep my card and they shredded it and I can't even get an explanation as to why my card was captured and how they have the right to shred someone els card. That's like a cashier taking your debit card and quickly dropping it in a paper shredder behind the counter and saying I'm sorry but idk why i did that. Your bank is pretty pathetic and I would like to thank you for the major inconvenience you caused me on my trip and for the unprofessional teller that answered the phone that didn't know why it would do such thing and give no explanation for this? I'll be sure to post this in plenty of review sites to let everyone know so no one els gets there card shredded for no apparent reason, And a $3. surcharge is a little greedy wouldn't you say? I mean I did agree to it before having my card taken from me but there's a lot of hard working people out there your over charging for a basically free service anymore.
