Hildacy Preserve, a 300-acre land grant from William Penn, has been carefully preserved by the non-profit organization Natural Lands. Once a heavily forested area, the land was gradually cleared for timber and agriculture, leaving only a small grove of trees by the late 1800s. In 1936, Hilda and Cyril Fox bought the property, determined to keep it open for wildlife. In 1981, Mrs. Fox donated Hildacy to Natural Lands, which has since worked to restore the woodlands, meadows, and wetlands to a more natural state. Hildacy Preserve offers a variety of natural spaces, including trails, open fields, and streams, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts. Despite its small size, the area boasts a diverse range of wildlife, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching. The well-maintained trails provide easy access, and the free entrance and parking make it an accessible destination for visitors. With its mix of wildlife zones, picnic area, and creek, Hildacy Preserve is a wonderful protected natural space for all to enjoy.

Beautiful hidden hiking area! Next to the springton reservoir, I feel like people fly by on 252 unaware of this really nice trail walking spot

Well groomed mowed grass trails. A fountain. Beautiful wooded path. Nice views of small hills and dells, pretty old stone houses. There is little level ground except paths along Crumb Creek.
