I have high standards when it comes to the people that I trust with the well being of my parents. Wesley Enhanced Living exceeded my expectations. My Dad stayed there for 2 weeks for short term rehab to regain strength and walking ability. The staff there was always responsive to my father when he rang his bell, they were easy to contact by phone, when they said they would call you back they called back. Every department we worked with was superb - PT (Mirabel & Heath were so helpful), Social Work (Elenor is a superstar), Nursing (Cindy & All of the nurses were so kind to my Dad). I was so pleased with the amount of time and extra care they gave to my Dad on all levels. We have dealt with other facilities and they can't come close to the way that my Dad was treated and cared for at Wesley. The facilities are clean, my Dad thought the food was good & they truly care.

My parents moved into an independent living apartment in WEL Main Line in 2015. The unit was beautiful and they loved their experience — dining, activities and staff are all top notch. Due to my Mom’s dementia, my Dad occasionally requested assistance with her care and support staff were all lovely. In 2017, my father became ill and was sent to skilled nursing (The Meadows) from the hospital. Staff there were attentive and compassionate. In early 2018, when it became clear that my father was in his final stage, my Mom was moved to the Personal Care unit (The Pines) where she has been ever since. The Pines is home to my mother! She is well cared for and loved by staff who treat her like family. I am grateful for WEL - Main Line where my Mom is safe and happy.

My mom moved in with my dad to martins Run. It was a wonderful place When Wesley took over it totally went down hill. They fired Beloved staff and the management were cold and indifferent. My Mom contracted covid from a healthcare worker. I begged to put her in the hospital and they said she wasn’t eligible I tried to fight it. She passed away a few days later. A few weeks before she was playing bridge. The independent living was very nice…but the other care let her die.She missed the shot by a few days!

DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONE TO BE SENT TO WESLEY ENHANCED LIVING.My sister recently experienced a health emergency that led to her not being able to walk or do normal day-to-day activities herself. Prior to this, she lived alone and was a very independent and active woman. She spent a few weeks in the hospital before needing to be sent to a rehabilitation facility for daily physical therapy. My sister was then sent to Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line. During my first visit to see her, everything inside the facility appeared clean and everyone we met was nice. Things quickly changed, however, and within a day it became clear that the nurses and aides at Wesley were not doing their due diligence, to say the least. When arriving for my second visit, the patient across the hall was screaming “HELP ME, GET ME OUT OF HERE” repeatedly. No one came to check on the woman, who continued to scream during my next few visits until eventually the nurses just closed her door and continued to ignore her cries for help.I tried to go to Wesley almost every day to see my sister. When I was not there, I would call for updates but my phone calls were never answered. My sister would call me on her own phone crying, and told me that no one would check on her or come to see her when she would press the call button for help. The nurses were giving her laxatives and then waiting close to an hour when my sister would press the call button for help to get to the bathroom. Even worse, my sister is a diabetic who needs daily doses of insulin. The nurses and aides were not being consistent about giving her the insulin, and one day during her stay her sugar levels were so high that they could not wake her up.The physical therapists were actually very nice, but since she was only with them for a short period of time every day, my sister was not moved around at all by the nurses and aides and eventually developed a painful bed sore. There was one aide in particular who I witnessed on multiple occasions come into my sister’s room and not speak to her or ask how she was doing or what she needed. She was extremely rude and was not treating my sister with any semblance of respect.During her final day at Wesley, my sister called for help to get to the bathroom. A nurse helped her up, and then left her unattended. My sister’s medical notes stated very clearly that she required 100% physical contact at all times when standing. Because she was left unattended, she lost her balance and fell backwards, hitting her head and getting a concussion. She was sent back to the hospital, and was so frightened at the thought of going back to Wesley that a caseworker from the hospital got involved to ensure her safety and transfer to a new facility.I spent every day that my sister was at Wesley worried for her safety and well-being and concerned at the care she was being given. Please do not send your loved one to this facility.

home less than 18 hours (8 of which he was asleep) from skilled nursing for rehab, fell twice. had to call ambulance. cognitive skills decreased significantly during his stay. no conversation or concern that his labs showed significant kidney impairment while there. their discharge plan was literally ,"we will help him to the car." family had to make arrangements and find out a referral from Wesley was needed... they sent him home with dirty laundry, had to pay for paratransit to take him home, they lost his Medicare and insurance cards. but there was a nurse he said was nice and the aides were nice and sometimes he liked the food. how in good conscience could they send my Dad home to a 90 year old wife and not help make arrangements for after care? it is hard to not be angry.

This facility is atrocious. My grandmother has been living at Wesley for years (back to when it was called Martin's Run) and the care/service has been in a steady decline for quite some time.Wesley is a business, and the goal for them clearly is to make money at the expense of their residents. They build new entrances/atrium's while removing food and transportation options. For thousands of dollars a month, there is no transportation available on certain days for errands/medical appointments. There is also a shortage of qualified medical professionals available to residence, so be prepared for your loved one to spend days in the assisted living community for simple procedures like changing a bandage. Where does all the money go?!?I can't recommend strongly enough to run away from Wesley Enhanced Living. Your loved one would be much better off in a different setting.

I have had a loved one living independently at Wesley Main Line Enhanced Living, formerly Martins Run, for over 10 years and her experience there is that it is simply home, where she fits in and belongs. She has found the staff responsive and caring as have I. The residential community, in Media, Pennsylvania, provides consistent, comprehensive, caring services for residents , including finding ways to increase the activities available, even in the time of Covid-19. The community is housed in a clean, sunny, attractive, low building with spokes where three floors of apartment units are located. All units are spacious and have good light to the out-of-doors. The attractive halls feel light and inviting. The central part of the facility, which serves as the core common space, includes many offices and services. Just to provide a sampling, there are administrative offices, a wellness center, display spaces, a large, airy living room-like area where people may sit and talk, play games, read, or just relax in front of a gas-heated fireplace, an auditorium for concerts and other events, a library and a computer room, dining facilities, a hair salon, and a good-sized room for mail as well as spaces for residents to work on puzzles and other kinds of table projects along one of the corridors. What more can I say?Courses in writing and drawing, as well as movies, lectures, and live entertainment, are part of programming as are gardening, a book club, and the opportunity to participate in governance. There is an Olympic-sized pool for recreating and exercising, combined with an adjacent area where residents may congregate and view exhibits and notices. The outside campus, beautifully maintained, offers areas where people may walk and sit or engage in planting. There are expansive open areas and those with shade. Four eating facilities vary the offerings according to what residents want to eat. Skilled nursing care is available and there is a memory unit and a hospital unit. When one member of a couple needs additional care and housing, there is the opportunity for the other family member to spend time as needed with his or her loved one. What impresses me most is that staff really care about residents and are courteous, warm, flexible and kind without exception. Wesley managers are most accommodating to requests for new activities and modifications of existing ones. Of importance is that the population comes from different cultural backgrounds and brings diverse life and educational experiences, so people learn from each other and take joy in learning about each other’s life-related customs. The atmosphere is one that encourages mingling and celebrating differences as well as shared life experiences. Houses of Worship are nearby and there is transportation. What I see whenever I visit is the friendliness and kindness of the residents toward one another and feelings of good will between residents and staff. What I also see is an interest in learning and being able to move outside one’s usual comfort zone. Personally, I have provided day trips for residents and experienced people joining the group for whom the site and its history were completely new.Wesley is just beginning to emerge from the worst health epidemic in the United States since the 1918 influenza. The track record for saving people from getting Covid-19 has been dramatic as has been the markedly tiny death rate. Those in independent living are being vaccinated now in February 2021. It also has just had a major reconstruction intended to provide more public spaces with additional light streaming in the central part of the facility, all for the better!I am impressed with what the director, Mike DeStefon and staff are doing to make Wesley Main Line a model community. It truly is a wonderful, welcoming place and I encourage those looking into residential living to seriously consider Wesley Enhanced Living Main Line. Thankfully, Wesley is here. And Bravo!

I am glad to have this opportunity to enumerate my experiences here at Wesley-Enhanced-Living. The Administrator - Michael DeStefon is amazing, dedicated and very much a part of every aspect of our community. Yes! Community: yes we are residents but what is better we are neighbors. Every aspect of our staff: Wellness, Many Activities, Maintenance, Housekeeping, Energy-exercise, Chefs, Servers, all perform with competence and friendliness. I have been here 3 years and am content and know I am in the place - Wesley - where I should be. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Just call main number and they will reach me.Francis X. Rauscher

With heartfelt appreciationFrom the perspective of this resident of Wesley Enhanced Living-Main Line, the initial protective vaccination (Feb. 9, 2021) against the Covid 19 virus for residents in Independent Living) was a well-planned, efficient, and tenderly administered program.Rich Block

My parents moved into WEL Main Line after a stay for both of them (different reasons) in the rehab section. While there, they toured the community and were impressed with the friendliness (everybody knows your name!), the great food, the ambience, and the affordability. They moved into an apartment a month later! After two years, my mother declined and eventually moved into skilled nursing and my father was able to visit her daily. The "tram" - similar to golf carts - brought him back and forth. Since she passed, my father has maintained his independent apartment where he turned 100 this year. The Facility did a remarkable one-year renovation that turned the shared spaces into a showplace. My father asked me to say, "This place is great. They did a terrific job when they renovated most of the place and tried to bother us a little as possible. It's really beautiful. The food is like a restaurant. Mike made sure we all got our Covid vaccines in the right order." The Covid pandemic has been rough for long term care facilities, and the WEL community is no exception. The true exception has been the care, kindness, concern, detailed planning and transparent management and communication which were all we could hope for.

My grandfather, a Holocaust survivor and decorated Korean War hero, is a resident at Wesley Enhanced Living Mainline's skilled nursing facility. He receives loving, individualized, impeccable care. The Director of Nursing, Kim Ratliff , is highly experienced, humorous, kind, warm and very accommodating. My grandfather, who had a very hard life, is very happy at Wesley. He loves the quality of the food and the amazing dietary staff. They honor his vegetarian lifestyle. The beautiful newly renovated facility is spotless. Of course, the care is more important than the building. My family is so impressed by the care that my grandfather receives. Everyone is so kind and attentive. They have a very dedicated, helpful social worker and a lively, creative activities department. My grandfather never had such a social life! The housekeeping and maintenance staff know my grandfather and talk to him. My grandfather's clock was broken. The maintenance department fixed it right away.During this very stressful covid era, they do all they can to keep the residents safe and entertained. They also go way above and beyond in connecting residents with their families on zoom and with window visits. So, if you need to find a skilled nursing facility for a loved one, Wesley Enhanced Living Mainline is the very best.
