“While my son, his wife and their son were in town over the holidays, we stopped at Wendell August hoping for a tour for my grandson. One of the employees, Laurie, spotted us and offered to show us around. She was AMAZING!!! She engaged with my 12 year old grandson with such kindness, knowledge, thoughtfulness and encouragement, even letting him hammer out a souvenir to take home with him. We all agreed that our time there was an absolutely wonderful experience thanks to Laurie! We also purchased some beautiful items from among the huge selection of gorgeous, hand crafted, wares. Thanks Wendell August, and especially Laurie! We look forward to coming back soon!”

“What a wonderful store! We found so many interesting and beautiful things here it was hard to choose. It really is a shop that you need to visit and explore to see it all. Impossible to describe!”

“The shops are great. However, the restroom situation is ridiculous. The village closed them; really, how inconsiderate. Fortunately, a few shops allow you to access theirs. We'll be back, but it would be nice to have known access to the restroom facilities without asking each shop owner.”

“I took a day trip with 4 friends to Pennslyvania state in the summer of 2021. This fudge and tea/coffee shop is located in the main street area of Volant, PA which is in western Pennsylvania. I visited this quaint little town (Volant) from Cleveland in July 2021 over Independence Day holiday weekend. INSIDE -- It is a small shop but big enough where you can move around. TEA -- I don't drink coffee so as an avid tea drinker, I was happy to see the assortment of teas sold here. I bought a gourmet Rooibos tea which is a red herbal tea found in South Africa. There are only 15 tea bags inside and I remember the price was quite expensive. I actually grew up drinking Rooibos tea in South Africa and it is definitely an acquired taste but I love it. This particular blend of Rooibos is made out of Smith's Teamaker in Portland, Oregon. I highly recommend buying it if you enjoy tea. FUDGE -- Soft, chewy, and homemade. They offer free samples so one of the employees offered me a sample of some fudge and it was delicious. I forgot the type that I had but it may have been chocolate flavoured. I didn't buy any fudge because I was on a budget and I had already spent money at other shops. **** - 40/150 total reviews in 2022 - 518 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 3 April 2022”
