Great experience. Great drink selection and excellent food. The service was on point as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. They have many options for a variety of needs.Dietary restrictions: They have many options if you have restrictions.

I want to start by saying I've been several other times and all other experiences were exquisite. This experience was not good. The steak came out pretty close to inedible. I ordered it done rare and it still managed to get burnt. Every bite was the taste of the grill char. My wife's bowl, the rice was crunchy (though her toppings were good). Just clearly not close to their best effort. When I brought it to waitresses attention she seemed very taken aback and tried offering us dessert then came back later and said, "I was able to get you half of your entrees" which didn't address the ruined evening or the fact the steak which is the centerpiece of the meal was ruined. The rice which is the centerpiece of any bowl was ruined. I don't ever expect a free meal, but I don't expect to get charged for a disaster. That said we paid our bill and tipped professionally anyway, but is likely to be our last trip to Talbotts.

We were beyond super disappointed in Talbots tonight. It’s been a long time since we’ve gone there as the prices were extremely high but we decided to give it a try because we’re all for supporting local businesses. It seems that prices have only gone higher with the quality of the food dropping drastically. To start we got the crab dip. It was imitation crab 101%, without a doubt. It was alright but not real like it claimed. Strike one.My fiancé got the duck; he said everything was okay but the sliced potatoes tasted like dirty dish water so he didn’t eat them. Okay… Strike two.I got the salmon and absolutely hated it; there was no flavor to the salmon and it was extremely charred and dry, the pasta that the salmon sat on had an awful sour smell and taste, the garlic green beans were definitely canned but was literally the only thing that tasted relatively okay on my plate and the side salad tasted like dirty/old lettuce. I also got charged a random 50 cents for “extra dressing” on my salmon, but where??? What dressing? If there was dressing, the salmon absorbed it in a desperate attempt to get moisture. Needless to say, I didn’t get to eat. That’s strike three.Following our plates was my daughter’s dish. She wouldn’t eat anything on her plate, she bit into a chicken tender and immediately didn’t want it. She loves chicken so it was odd that she didn’t want it, my fiancé then tried her chicken and confirmed it tasted… sour? I didn’t try it to find out. We then got charged a dollar, a whole dollar for a small cup of ranch that should have came with her meal as she got chicken tenders and it should have been considered her dipping sauce. Strike four!Thought strike four was the end? Nooo… We’ll end with strike five- there was already music playing in the dining area; it was loud by itself but to add on was even louder music coming out of the kitchen. Playing ABOVE the dining room tunes was loud, booming, inappropriate music blaring from the kitchen. My fiancé is autistic, anyone with the same disorder will understand how much more overwhelming it may have been. He wanted to leave shortly after sitting down. It was ridiculous, as there was already so much going on. Between our daughter being a kid, 2 completely different genres playing (old country and rap), 2 different levels of music playing (one loud and one extremely loud), people talking suuuper loud to be able to talk above the music annnnd trying to figure out what we wanted… we couldn’t relax, couldn’t hear each other, couldn’t think. For the amount we paid and the experience we had, we should have went to red lobster. In the end we would have paid less and had better food..The ONLY positive thing about the whole night was our waitress. She was so kind, helpful and patient. The restaurant should be thanking her, if it wasn’t for her we absolutely would have complained and demanded our meals reimbursed as many others would have and/or will. All in all, we will not be returning.

Delightful restaurant, the food was delicious, nice variety. It's a small establishment, so make sure you call ahead for reservations. My only complaint, our server, who was fabulous.... Asked us politely to "move along" while we were finishing up our beverages because there was another reservation waiting for our table.

Honestly, everything was great! If you dialed back on trying to be fancy with plating, it would be better. Steak like that needs nothing on top, just on the side! The server was excellent.

We are from the Youngstown/Warren area of Ohio, but took a snowy, sometimes white-out, drive yesterday. It was out to and around Lake Wilhelm and through the Maurice K. Goddard State Park. After that we were looking to grab a late lunch early dinner. Our daughter and her husband had been to Talbot's and highly recommended we go there since we were to be in the area. It definitely stood up to the recommendation. We arrived at about 3 PM on Saturday and the lot was full. We did learn that they take reservations. A table for 2 was to have a 30 minute wait. It ended up only to be 20 minutes.Getting one thing out of the way, my only disappointment was the water. I drink water everywhere I go. I guess I found out that I don't like Mercer, PA water. The only way Talbot's could rectify that is to have some high end water treatment system. Even with that, the rating is still 5 stars. Our waitress was Frankie and she did an outstanding job. We started with an appetizer of the Crab Dip with Baby Naan Bread. Naan bread is a type of flat bread and this was lightly toasted. WoW. It was absolutely delicious.I had the 14 oz Ribeye with Alfredo Gnocchi, pickled onions and a side salad. The ribeye was cooked to a perfect medium just as I requested. Mmm Mmm good.My wife had the Cod Imperial which was broiled cod with jumbo lump crab mixture on top and garlic green beans. She also had a side salad. She was very satisfied with her meal. The decor was definitely different. Very unique. You can get a flavor for it by looking at the pictures I posted with this review.Delicious food. Awesome service. Clean facility. Reasonable pricing. What more could you ask for?If you are looking for lunch or dinner, this is absolutely worth the drive. You need to check it out. We will most definitely be back.
