I'm giving 2 stars because the alpacas are adorable and the farm is lovely and well taken care of. The missing three are for the rude lady who owns it. I was visiting Mercersburg looking for something to do, and Long Acres popped up. I checked their website to see if I could visit. The site conveniently has an entire section dedicated to this, welcoming visitors, as seen in the photos. I followed the instructions exactly, including parking where indicated at the property (yes, they have parking signs), and staying only on the road. It was an afternoon, not dark, not a holiday, nothing that would seem disrespectful. At first, it seemed fine. One of the people at the farm - I think it was the husband half of the owners - came by with their dogs and waved as I first arrived. As I wrapped up my visit, the wife (the one photographed on the site) comes chasing me down in a big pickup truck asking what I'm doing, saying it's private and telling me to get out. I was pretty taken aback by this; I'm not an a****** who disrespects property rights. I said I would leave immediately and suggested they change the website to reflect their wishes. She then drove past me another time as I rushed away, roaring her engine at me. WHY?! I was f****** leaving! There are no signs anywhere indicating that they have changed their minds about allowing visitors. I didn't ask them to list their business on sites LIKE THIS ONE! drumming up publicity; I didn't pay for or design the website hosting, wherein they invite visitors; I did not do anything besides follow THEIR instructions. But this woman decides that the best thing to do is to be an a** for no reason. Okay. Take that tab off of your f****** website. Update your Google and Yelp listings. It is extremely easy to prevent these sort of misunderstandings BY SIMPLY NOT PUBLICLY INVITING PEOPLE TO YOUR FARM! It's not as if this was my idea. Needless to say, I'm wholly unimpressed with this human being and have no interest in supporting her. Maybe she's great at what she does, but it's worth the effort to find someone less wishy washy and unnecessarily aggressive. The man, the dogs, and the alpacas were great. I wish she hadn't ruined it by acting like I'm some kind of interloper. I would never have stepped foot on their farm without the specific website invitation. What a gross person.

I’ve attended four of Sarah’s educational seminars on everything from herd health to breeding. Her wealth of knowledge about both the alpaca industry and the alpacas themselves is extraordinary. I’ve learned so much from her and would highly recommend contacting her for educational workshops. She imparts her incredible knowledge in a dynamic and oftentimes hands on approach that is amazing. Her workshops are equally relevant to both newcomers and seasoned alpaca owners. I look forward to attending more in the future.

So many alpacas. And them dogs, though. Don’t stop at the first 3 alpacas. Or the second couple dozen. There is the jackpot of alpacas at the end.

Had a wonderful experience walking the Alpacas today... Kids ages 8, 12 and 15 all enjoyed themselves and learned so much. Each Alpaca has their own personality and fun Perky is great craic ??. Highly recommend the experience to everyone
