Merion Tribute house is the perfect venue for a rustic castle-style wedding. It was everything we wanted in a venue. The Legion room is perfect for hosting a cozy indoor ceremony while the patio and lounge are perfect for cocktail hour. The ballroom is the perfect mix of large to host but still hinting toward rustic formal charm. The stage is perfect for a live band (we had one and it was great!) The entry area is jaw-droppingly gorgeous and the building itself is a jewel. You get the entire venue to yourself for your day, no sharing with others, and Collette was very easy to work with and has all sorts of diagrams and information on measurements and whatnot for helping you plan things out. She can work with you to store your decor and alcohol at the venue in advance so it's already there days before your event. They have preferred caterers and we went with John Serrock who was amazing as well. This venue was everything we hoped and dreamed and was reasonably costed too. The bridal suite to get ready in was so helpful and had lots of space. The grooms get ready area was great too. Photos of venue are by Martin Reardon Photography

My first time visiting this place as a wedding DJ with Boom Room Productions. This place is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is friendly and helpful. Loading in and out was very easy with a large entryway and a ramp. Electric supply was sufficient. The building is built like a fortress. So the sound remains inside pretty well without disturbing the neighbors. Looking forward to DJing here again.

For our wedding, we wanted a venue that would accommodate around 150 guests, allow for outside caterers (so we could serve Indian food), and was close to an airport since many of our guests live far away. After visiting several venues, we fell in love with the Merion Tribute House (MTH) for its gorgeous architecture and beautiful grounds.Colette, who was our point of contact for MTH, was very responsive to our emails and phone calls answering all our questions in a timely manner. We were able to work with Colette without any issues to get our new-to-the-venue caterer (Hemant Mathur Catering) approved for our event. Additionally, caterers are normally responsible for removing trash from the venue. Since our caterers were coming from a distance (Yonkers, NY), we were able to arrange with Colette/MTH to just pay for an additional trash pickup through their trash company rather than hiring another dumpster/trash vendor or paying the caterer to rent an additional van to remove the trash.MTH allows a 1-hour wedding rehearsal that can be scheduled in advance. Our wedding rehearsal, which was run by Helen, was extremely helpful. She was great at directing our bridal party (who weren’t always great about listening) and keeping us on track while still allowing us to talk/be loud and have a fun rehearsal. She gave us many helpful suggestions for both an outdoor and indoor (in case of rain) ceremony, such as where to walk and stand, which trees may make for the best background, etc.On our wedding day, rain was predicted, so we made the call for an indoor ceremony. We were a little bummed since we were really looking forward to an outdoor ceremony, but it ended up being a beautiful and intimate ceremony in the Legion Room which has some gorgeous architecture.Since we made the call to hold the ceremony indoors by 9am, the MTH staff were able to arrange all the ceremony chairs in the Legion Room well in advance. The MTH staff also helped direct the caterers as to where to place the appetizer and bartender tables since they could no longer be placed in the originally planned location as a result of the ceremony being moved indoors. The venue and catering staff all worked together to ensure that the cocktail hour and reception went smoothly despite the weather throwing a wrench into our plans.Overall, we thought MTH was a gorgeous location for our wedding and felt that the more DIY aspect of the venue helped to curb costs and keep it within our budget. The only downside to this was that we were only allowed 4 hours to arrange tables and decorate prior to the ceremony. This meant we needed to have someone directing helpers and delegating jobs (in our case it was the matron of honor) to ensure everything went smoothly. From our experience, we learned that it is best to create a checklist of jobs and have someone who is not in the wedding party in charge of delegating those jobs since the entire bridal party is often busy getting ready and having pictures taken prior to the wedding.
