My dog and I absolutely LOVE taking classes with Melanie. We've learned so much and I can not wait to see what we learn next. The class sizes are perfect. Everyone there is so kind. The Property/training facility is beautiful and spacious. I do not think there is a better place my dog and I could have gone to.

We currently attend Nose Work classes. My dog Sox and I love coming here. Sox always starts whining when we turn into the facility, she's so excited to be there. Melanie is always such a pleasure to work with. She will always try to set you and your dog up for success. She is very knowledgeable and I am always surprised how much I learn about the sport and my dog at each class. These classes have truly helped my dog develop so much confidence and have also provided my dog and I to bond on a whole other level. Melanie can really help you and your furry friend build a great team!! Thanks Melanie for all you do!

I have been trying with Kerber for the past 4 years on and off. We are training for nose work right now. My dog loves it. Her tail starts wagging as soon as we pull in the driveway. Melanie runs a great business and is very professional. I am so glad we found her.

I've been taking weekly nose work classes with Mel over the last several years. Her classes are well-planned and fun. She has taken numerous classes and seminars on canine learning theory, clicker training and canine scent work. Her credentials are impressive. She has a significant amount of experience with a numerous dog breeds. Her training facility and class sizes are very good. Currently, she is helping me to navigate the higher levels of competition with my nose work (level 3) Cairn Terrier.

I am a first time dog owner and started taking my dog Artie to Melanie for Nose Work once I retired. Since taking her class the bond between Artie and I has increased ten fold. He loves coming to her class and I know this because he gets very excited when his "working bag" comes out and he knows he's going to class. Melanie's Nose Work class has taught me how to handle Artie in a positive way. She is a very knowledgeable and patient teacher and I couldn't ask for anyone better.

Kerber Dog Training is my dogs’ happy place! I have been going there for K9 Nose Work classes since 2016. Mel Kerber is a certified dog trainer and an accredited nose work instructor. She is incredibly knowledgeable about dog training and behavior. Her classes are upbeat and fun for dogs and humans alike. No matter the class, her approach is aimed at deepening your relationship with you dog. Highly recommend!

I have been going to Kerber Dog Training for nosework, puppy classes, and manners class with my various dogs for a year and a half. Melanie is kind, patient, and gives clear instruction. She cares about dogs deeply, their quality of life, and helping to improve the relationship you can have with your pup. She is patient to answer questions and takes the time to make sure the individual needs of each dog are met in her classes. We look forward to many more years of classes with Mel!

I've been taking Mel's nosework classes for about 3-4 years and have learned so much. Mel is thoughtful in her instruction, observes each team and advises with an individualized approached. She strikes a great balance of encouragement and accountability. Nosework is an ongoing sport, so both my dog and I enjoy the weekly classes and the friendships we've developed over the years. She embraces a positive reinforcement approach, which I was originally seeking. The bond with my dog has increased tenfold from our nosework journey and sure enough I've come to appreciate that - truth be told - the training is mostly for the humans, less for the dogs. Highly recommend Kerber Dog Training!

Melanie takes a logical approach to teaching Nosework. She allows the dogs to build on their knowledge. Both the dogs and handlers have a good time while learning. -Lynn Millar

Mel is a fantastic teacher and we have taken three dogs to her classes. She really teaches you how to communicate with your dog and form a positive relationship with them. Her advice on how to handle the challenges of having a puppy have made my life so much easier. She is especially good at coaching us humans to pay attention to dog's body language, to send clear signals, and to reward good behavior and avoid reinforcing the behaviors we don't want (jumping up for example). If I am having a particular challenge with my pup, I can bring it up to Mel and she helps me figure out a solution--I go from feeling overwhelmed to feeling empowered with great techniques for communicating/training.

I have been very pleased with the training my dogs and I have received at Kerber Dog Training. Melanie is an excellent instructor who is very knowledgeable and has well designed lesson plans that she teaches catering to the unique needs of each dog-handler team. She is kind and patient with both dogs and handlers making sure that everyone involved understands and progresses at their own pace. The facility is temperature controlled and located in a beautiful country farm setting. I have been involved in a variety of dog activities through the years and can honestly say taking nose work classes at Kerber Dog Training has been one of the best.

Brought to Mel an 8-month old "juvenile delinquent" blue heeler. Over the course of six weeks, she taught us the building blocks to better his behavior. Methods to help him stay, sit/down, go to his mat, loose-leash walk, come when called, and many others. Results didn't happen overnight, but with practice, my pup began to act more like a well-trained dog and less like a furry hurricane. Our relationship is better because of it. Highly recommend.
