Our family had a lovely time at the well-appointed red lantern b&b. Regina has thought of absolutely everything. Books and toys for kids? Check! Tea, yoga mats, ear plugs, anything you might need--double check. Breakfast was delicious, and the space is very comfy cozy. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for the night while on our cycling trip along the Gap Trail. It was short ride from the trail and we needed to traverse a few hills but was well worth the ride. The home is over 100 years-hold and has tons of character. Regina was an AMAZING host. When I say she thought of everything to make our stay comfortable, I mean EVERYTHING. She had snacks, first aid, toiletries, coffee, tea and little thing you may need after a long day's ride. The rooms are comfortable and have what you need, including comfortable beds. This B&B is not luxurious but it is cute, clean and spacious. We enjoyed an evening around the firepit in the backyard and a nice meal at the White House restaurant about a mile away.Regina prepared a fabulous breakfast the next morning. We couldn't have felt more at home.

Most important piece of information here is that there is a train track 50 feet from the house. Trains run routinely all through the night. The house shakes and if that isn't enough but it's extremely loud and blows it's whistle as it enters town which is where the house is. The owner is nice enough but this place is a joke. The house is dilapidated and extremely run down. You will not get a good night's rest here! The other reviews on this property cannot possibly be real.

My husband and I stayed here after biking from Cumberland, MD. We were pretty tired from the ride and Regina greeted us with a nice glass of ice water or Italian ice if we wanted! Meyersdale is hilly but once you get here, the BnB is a relaxing place to be. There was a tea/ and kuerig table , over the counter medicine cabinet items available if needed, washer/dryer with detergents provided, some snacks , and many more personal items available just in case! She even had a dry line out back to hang bike shorts if needed ! There was a bike rack outside with security cameras and a wash station. We also had a mini fridge in our room . When you come here, you are coming home. We are not gluten free but the gluten free breakfast was good and the warm maple syrup was yummy . The town is very hilly. We were told if we make reservations with the White House restaurant , we could text Mike to pick us up. Mike was also an owner and along with his wife who is also the chef. Their care for their business is evident. Meyersdale is an everyone knows one another town and they are nice to visitors . We truly felt they appreciated our business. Meyersdale is also a train town, and the trains do pass through often. The provided ear plugs were helpful for someone like me who is sensitive to sound. The bed was comfortable and our room had an air conditioner. We have never experienced the Level of hospitality that Regina showed us. We would stay here again if we needed a stay.

Many thanks to our great hostess Regina. Her century home is just off the GAP trail and easy to find. We were made to feel very welcome and the room is inviting and full of wonderful products for us to use. She was very accommodating about our electric bikes, much appreciated!

Even when I received the booking confirmation for my overnight stay, I knew the place would be great. The email was welcoming and even included the best cycling route to avoid the steeps hills in town as I arrived. Regina checked me in while pouring me a mason jar of brewed iced tea and providing a tour of the lovely house. The house was decorated with cycling and lantern themes with warm, comfortable furnishings. A Keurig coffee maker and glass pitchers of charcoal filtered sat in the antique kitchen and foyer, along with bags of chips, first aid for biking relief, books to read...cozy. An upright piano stood in a corner with a small tv above.I had chosen a room with private bath that had an in-room shower -- the bathroom was modern and fully stocked with even a single use- toothpaste tube. The bed was comfortable and clean. With the town near a railroad, ear plugs were provided, but the window AC did a good job to cover noise.Regina allowed me to arrange a time for breakfast the next morning after showing me all the dining choices in town from a binder that was painstakingly detailed. Regina cooked me homemade waffles with two types of local syrup, with and without berries. While the french press coffee was good -- I mean ALL if it was good -- my favorite was the yogurt parfait with fresh blackberries. The house oozed charm and I will make it a part of my GAP trips or anytime I may need a comforting weekend. Thanks, Regina!

To be clear, I did not stay here, my friend stayed here while I camped at the Maple Festival Campground (that’s another review). Regina was a wonderful hostess. She gave the tour and all the amenities. I was able to do laundry and even invited me for breakfast (for a small fee). Breakfast was great. Homemade everything with lots of maple of course. Highly recommend.

Wonderful B&B! It's an 1897 house with many charming details. Regina is a wonderful host! She has thought of everything. This place has complimentary everything! Washer/dryer/50 types of teas and coffees/chips/all kids of rubs, ice packs, ointments, every possible medication for aches and pains. I'm very picky with beds, but mine was so comfortable that I didn't want to get out of it in the morning. The breakfast was remarkable! Homemade waffles, oatmeal, fruit, and l sausage with many varieties of maple items since Meyersdale is the home of the PA Maple Festival. If I ever stay in Meyersdale again, it will definitely be here.

I don't know why anyone would stay anywhere else in Meyersdale. The Red Lantern is top notch!! To be honest, I wasn't really overly excited for this trip. But my boyfriend was doing a gravel bike race here and I reluctantly came along. And I just fell in love w Meyersdale. What a charming little town w the nicest people. And Regina is the best BnB host ever! I've never stayed in a place that was so well thought out. Regina made the BEST breakfasts for us each morning. She had a coffee and tea station that was sooo up my alley. She had so many options of loose tea and I think I drank 2-3 cups a tea each day bc the tea was so good. She had tons of sweetener options to put in your tea (although I drink mine black so I didn't try them out). Anything you could have forgotten to bring (and I mean anything) Regina had on hand. She just had so many extra touches that made the stay a step above the rest. We were here on a colder fall weekend and we had the cutest matching robes to wear. And slippers. The home is stocked w organic, low chemical products. Regina cooks w many local products and makes a concerted effort to reduce waste. I know this isn't important to everyone but it is to me and I wasn't expecting to find this in small town America. We def plan to come back to Meyersdale and when we do the Red Lantern will be where we stay!!!

Regina is amazing! She helped our group of 11 in everything - rooms were perfect, breakfast was incredible and perfect for the ones with dietary restrictions, a lot of little touches to make our stop on the GAP seamless and enjoyable. This is one of the most deserved 5 stars I have ever given, highly recommended.

After a hot ride from Cumberland, Regina greeted us with ice water and a popsicle! Breakfast was amazing with homemade yoghurt and waffles. The fruit-infused, local maple syrup was to die for. The house is really comfortable, homey, and well equipped: washer/dryer, bike work stand, tools, lubes. Nice amenities like bathrobes for each guest. Nice backyard patio to enjoy an evening. Regina bent over backward with local information and finding info for out next day's ride. Just wonderful.

For folks traveling on the GAP, I give this the highest recommendation possible. (They aren't kidding about the steep hill to get there, though - check a map with hills marked before you head into town!) Regina has the place so well-stocked with anything a traveling cyclist could need - a bike stand and bike tools, including a nice floor pump, toiletries (including satin pillowcases and individual sized chamois butter!), and a deal with a local restaurant to provide rides. Laundry on-site and a lovely back yard to sit and enjoy the train going by made it a perfect spot for us and I only wish that we could have spent every single night of our trip in a place so thoughtfully well-stocked.

This is a perfect B&B to stay in while biking the GAP. It is an old house perfectly set up as a B&B. Regina is a great communicator, she all kinds of sundries (advil, bandaids, chamois cream, ……) and bike stuff (pump, lube, rags, stand) available. It is a nice walk to town for restaurants. Nice hangout in the living room when it is too hot in the backyard.
