Our cats been patients for at least a year now & we have been incredibly happy with the care that they have received.ALL of the vets and techs have been very kind and understanding. Each one has taken the time to listen to our concerns and treat our cats with love and compassion (even the cats that have to be medicated prior to the visit). We have never had an issue with the customer service that we have received. Everyone at the front desk has been courteous and professional at every visit.

Most times receptionists are very rude. There is 1 vet tech there, female. Don't know her name. But she is very rude! And they are very expensive as far as services and medication. My dogs medication, went up 1 month 20.00. I went to get it the next month, it went up another 30.00.. No wonder ppl can't afford to take care of there pets. And I can't take them some place else. Cause nobody taking me patients. This is supposed to be a clinic. . It's getting ridiculous!!

Juniata Vet used to be a decent clinic to go to, but it's been in major decline the past couple of years. It is a revolving door for vets now and all the good vets left ages ago. My first issue was three years ago: my rescue pup needed an important surgery. During pre-op, I was given a comprehensive quote with a minimum and maximum price range. Afterward, I was charged double the maximum limit! The excuse was that the original quote was for a different procedure. There was no apology and no offer to work with me, but if I wanted my baby back, I had to pay the full amount. I should have left right there, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. There have still been problems with exorbitant charges and trying to do tests i don't want. The final straw was just last week. I knew my Pyrenees was going to need specialized care this summer, so I brought her into the clinic in the spring to make a plan with the team. She started showing signs last week, so I called in to make an appointment to execute the plan I discussed with the vet. Staff decided that they had a better plan and wanted to schedule us for extra services I did not want. When I explained that the extra measures were not part of the plan I discussed with the vet, I was told the vet said she DID discuss it "at length" with me. I assumed they must have mixed me up with someone else so I went to the clinic in person. That was a mistake because it just allowed them to gang up on me and corner me and intimidate me into leaving without getting to talk to the vet. They also were trying to claim that the additional measures were a Requirement to proceed with treatment. I was on the verge of tears the whole way home. The vet finally called me 2 hours later. She confirmed that I was right about the original plan and that the new tests were not required to proceed with treatment, but instead of assuring me I was not crazy she scolded me for trying to stand up for myself and not allowing the staff to gaslight me. Also, the charges were going to be three times more expensive than originally planned. The next morning I found a new veterinarian first thing and went for a second opinion. When I called Juniata Vet to have my records sent over, they STILL refused to apologize!TLDR:Juniata Vet used to be good about taking care of your pet without charging you an arm and a leg. Now they just want to squeeze as much money out of you as possible and everyone should just be quiet and pay up. And they WILL lie to save face and even fabricate new "requirements" that they can make more money from. If you're not rich, but still want good care for your pet DO NOT USE JUNIATA VET!!

Lewistown branch didn't survive the pandemic. The mifflintown branch seems to have severely restricted hours. I'm considering looking for another Vet if I can't get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time even though they do really well with my animals.
