I’m very happy with this daycare. As a first time mom it was very nerve wracking sending my 12 week old to daycare for the first time and the owner and teachers went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and sent me additional photos, notes and updates through the app his first week. Someone is always holding him when I come to pick him up and he’s always happy and content.

I love these people that cry over this and that! we have been taking our daughter here for over three years now. sure, there are growing pains with the new owner, but that is expected anywhere. there are new teachers there, and they seem to be fully vested in the kids. our daughter loves it there, and unless she is unwillingly participating in a fight club or somehow being neglected she will continue to go there. P.S. for the whiner who crying about not being able to pay biweekly, you have to open your mouth! I pay monthly and had no problems with doing so.

Ever since the new ownership took place, this place was never the same. People were fired and people left due to new management. I will never take my kids here ever again.

I LOVE IT I definitely haven't found a better daycare center to leave my child, the treatment was first class, the welcome was accompanied with a lot of respect and love but above all the care was excellent with my child, the staff was very attentive, friendly, efficient and helpful. I loved it ? ?? I loved him

Brecknock Academy WAS a great daycare. Previous owner ran the facility like a well oiled machine. The staff was wonderful and my children loved going to daycare everyday. The previous owner retired and the facility sold. The new owner is unorganized and unreliable, dedicated staff has left, and the curriculum and care has suffered. After 5.5 years, we have chosen to leave Brecknock Academy and transfer daycares. If you are considering Brecknock Academy....think again!

Used to be a great place until the change in ownership. Bunch of teachers left or were fired because the owner didn't like them. Rooms had been closed with no notice cause of being short staffed. The door locks didn't work for weeks and even had a sign posted saying it was unlocked. Invoices were constantly messed up. Owner said they were allowed to be out of ratio. Would have recommended with the prior owner but no longer. The new owner has also kicked kids out because she felt disrespected cause a parent rolled their eyes.

Great Center to take your children. I can leave without any worries. I know my child is in good hands and it's treated with love and respect. I love it here and so does my kids.

We left after 5 years there. There are a few great teachers still there that are trying to make it work for the kids, but the new owner is going to run the place into the ground. She has no business sense, can't figure out invoicing, and constantly changing policies to cut all costs. She took away paper towels in the bathrooms but gave no solutions for kids to dry hands, took away cups before telling parents to bring in water bottles, stopped the diaper program by just not buying diapers but didn't tell parents until the school started running out. You now also have to provide snacks and wipes. She has voided invoices that we had already paid and tried to re-invoice us. She sits at the table playing on her phone while the teachers run around doing everything and parks at the front spot so parents trying to get multiple kids and bags in the door have to cross the parking lot. Wouldn't you expect a new owner to be greeting families at the door day 1 of owning it? Instead, we got a poorly written one paragraph letter stating she was the new owner that half the parents didn't even get because she ran out of copies. Heaven forbid you roll your eyes about one of her policies or count kids - you are out! She has a sign saying she can terminate service at any time. Plus, if she closes a classroom because there aren't enough teachers you are still expected to pay. She runs on bare minimum teacher ratios and has already been cited twice for being out of ratio. My son wasn't even 10 months old and moved into the 1 year old room to "be in ratio" which makes no sense, since then that 1 year old room needs to be using the same ratio as the infant room. There are already 2 complaints on the Child Services website for being out of ratio. This was once a great daycare, and I was truly sad to have to pull my youngest out as we loved it for our oldest. I feared that any issue that happened would be swept under the rug and there would be no transparency. Once again, there are a few great teachers trying to make it work, but she has no appreciation for the teachers or families. Please also consider the 5 star review is from CA and also has commented on pictures of her other daycare..........my guess is family or friend so take it with a grain of salt.

Update: New billing system is auto pay/withdraw from your bank account only, no option to pay bi weekly unless you pay in cash or by check. Today, received a call from the daycare they were cancelling the 2 year old room for today because of a staff shortage. How can you call me and other parents an hour before I go to work and say you canceled the class for the day because you don't have enough staff. What are we supposed to do? Instead of a price increase, why can't you get a handle on things first!
