First let me say I practiced nursing for 10yrs of my life. Not a lot of time but enough time to have a decent amount of experience. Idk who they have running their ER, but they apparently have NO CLUE how to prioritize care. I was there on 8/24/23 around 7:15pm. The young girls in triage were morons. Apparently having a cancelled colonoscopy n probable bowel obstruction isn’t as big of an emergency as some drunk idiot that has black eyes from a fight. After taking the ENTIRE ER back, they came out n said they were so sorry n we’re getting a bed together. They said that I had been overlooked. I told them don’t bother n I left. Like I want to be seen by people who forget that you’re there. This is the 2nd time I watched them do that. It happened to my father also. Someone is going to die in there because THEY HAVE NO CLUE HOW TO PRIORITIZE THEIR CARE. I’d like to know what happened to our healthcare system. Compared to when I did this work, these people SUCK AT THEIR JOBS. These people have gone into the field thinking it’s easy or taking the excellerated programs JUST FOR THE $$$ rather than actually caring about people. I’m not impressed w/ them or UPMC. If this is where we r headed w/ healthcare, get ready to watch MANY people needlessly die. Honestly, Idk if I’m even going to renew my Highmark insurance because of how bad their ER is. Truly not even impressed w/ North Shore Gastroenterology either. The whole AHN Acute Care Community, stinks! As a person who has worked in the field, they should be ashamed of themselves because the people on the floors are excellent. It’s a shame that you have to go thru the idiots in triage before you can be seen. I would give them ZERO stars if possible. That’s how freaking TERRIBLE THEY ARE! I’m sorry, you don’t FORGET patients. Then to do it twice!?!? SHAMEFUL!!!! I wouldn’t take my worst enemy there.

Grandfather was admitted to the icu for a cardiac emergency.Some pathetic resident decides to override the attending and take him out of the icu.They made him move beds 3 times because their beds are broken.Raising his cardiac risks every single time.That’s not negligenceThat’s conscious disregard of a known risk.Get your loved ones out of this place now.

We just left this hospital. Came in Dehydrated with a fever.We sat there for 3 1/2 hours, until I decided to ask someone when we will be seen, all to find out they are going by severity & ambulances & we are no where on the list for a bed or a room. By far the worst hospital ever! They can’t even accommodate people who are there & need to be seen!One lady had a puke bag in her hand sitting in the waiting room. Another person was having convolutions! It was disturbing.I know hospitals are busy with Covid & all but come on. 4 hrs & no real hope of seeing a doctor anytime soon?!?? Avoid!!!!!!!! Total waste of time!!!

If I could I wouldn't give the place a 1 star. Sorry excuse for an ER. I wouldn't bring my cat here ever. My son in car accident gf had broken wrist he broke the windshield with his head.EMS took them she went back he sat in ER. Real nice. Je could have a brain bleed and we are just sitting for hours. We left to take him to a better hospital. Sad excuse

Had a couple procedures done short stay. Nurse was wonderful! The doctor was very nice, informative, and had a great sense of humor! Would go back again if needed!
