I waited a week because they offered a great deal on ribs, passing up other sales. Showing up around mid-day, the ribs that were advertised were gone, and prominently displayed were other ribs at far greater than two bait-and-switch multiple of the advertised price. I was told they sold out very early. This is not a loss leader but a very evident bait and switch strategy. I expect this from big box electronic stores on Black Friday but not from of a fixture in the Pittsburgh community.Shame on you Giant Eagle.

The most expensive grocery chain in Pittsburgh. I always knew the prices were higher but I justified it because of fuel perks. I didn't truly realize till I created a cart on their app and Walmarts app. I added my usual grocery list to both carts. By time I finished I realized that giant eagle was almost double the cost of Walmart. On average each item was $1-2 more at giant eagle.I'll take that $400 a month that I will save and go to Sam's and fill up at the same price as get go with advantage pay price. I will be able to fill my tank 2x a week per month if I needed to.

This is an excellent place to get items which ALDI'S don't have.I shopped in Giant Eagle for many years until I discovered Aldi's, which became my go to place! Aldi's saves us Time and Money and now Aldi's also have self check out, which is fantastic! Aldi's offer organic foods, produce, meat and chicken and employee are always friendly while tasked oriented and hard working.Aldi's is a German Platform grocery store which is located in most countries of Eastern and Western Europe and United Kingdom.Giant Eagle is conveniently carries items which Aldi's don't.Let this review save you time and money and allow Giant Eagle serve you as a go to place for specialty items as it offers exponential variety.

Placed an order for a full sheet cake 2 weeks prior to my event. I received a confirmation email. This was a special design that was to feed 90 people. The day of pickup I arrived at the bakery and after 15 minutes of waiting I was told that they did not do the cake. They admitted that they knew it was ordered but just didn't do it. After another 20 min of them saying "this is completely our fault, we don't have any answers", the store team leader offered me a display cake at a 10% discount. I needed a full sheet, not some every day torte. And he wanted me to pay for their mistake. An hour after my scheduled pick up time, I got a full sheet cake with hastily scrawled wording. NOT the special designed cake I ordered well in advanced.

I was kicked out at 9:53 even though other shoppers were still coming out. My purchase was going to take less than 30 seconds and an older women with blonde hair told me they were closed. I wasn’t going through the store, I was buying a gift card. It doesn’t make sense when the hours online state they are open to 10, if their employees kick you out early. Perhaps only stay open until 9 if your workers don’t want to fulfill their roles.

✴️ Updated September 3rd, 2023Ty for 1,500,000 views ?Mainstay of Monroeville. Gets really busy on Saturdays and you should be mindful of the traffic. People get very casual with their driving rules while in search of parking spots. The drive-thru Pharmacy is at a minimum a 15+ minute wait. You're better off ordering ahead or phoning it in first. This review is for a few things I like:Rao's Pasta and Entrees which are all-natural and Ezekiel Bread if you're gluten free. Rao's is consistently rated the #1 bottles pasta choice. Ezekiel is all natural and more importantly tastes great.Btw, store traffic at 4pm on a Wednesday was heavy, but not impossible. If you want impossible, try the new Whole Foods in East Lib / Penn Avenue at the same time.Along the right wall by the Sushi ? and the Deli Meats ? is a selection of new Paleo foods. Kevin's is a pretty healthy brand with minimal processing. As always, check the ingredients on your packages. You'd be surprised - the wasabi peas have a disclaimer that "this product contains a bioengineered food ingredient" - at least it did when I picked it up a few weeks back. In contrast, the Ferrara instant espresso and Leonard Labriola's across the street says "contains no bioengineered food products". Just pointing this out because I didn't know it was that much of a thing.

Store was clean… they have 12 plus SELF CHECKOUTS OPEN and two cashiers no baggers… and have put the slowest check out people at them… they are not handing out discounts to self check myself out. Ridiculous amount of time for getting what’s in the photo.

I ma.not a fan of the self checkout, it requires that you have an eagle card. Well, I don't want one. I don't live here, I just wanted to grab 4 things and go. Instead I had to wait in the regular line for 20 minutes because the cashier is nice, but my goodness is she slow.

I very unhappy with this giant eagle. A few weeks ago I placed an online order. When I got home I realized all my produce was bad, which I got quite a bit between vegetables and fruit. I called and complained and told me I would receive a refund within 5-7 business days. Fast forward to last week, I called again to see where my refund was and the lady on the phone said a manager would call me and I would get a refund 5-7 days. I’m STILL waiting for refund!!! I’m very disappointed with their customer service. I never had this issue in the past but I WILL NOT shop at this giant eagle again. I know there’s a lot of people that shop here so me not shopping there won’t do anything. Walmart has better customer service than this place!!??

Generally speaking, as far as selection goes, one of the best large chain grocery stores around. There can be shortages, so stock up when appropriate.Customer service can be sketchy at times so it's always a delight when one encounters a competent, check-out person, who's fast, friendly and on task. These are ones we recognize by bringing their superior efforts to the attention of management. ??

I most often use giant eagle for their grocery pick up. I have five kids and it is very helpful to not have to walk the isles and have them shop for us and pick. It is pretty rare but occasionally I get a bad piece of produce, but it is hard for them I'm sure. I love this service and if you have never used it you should try it!

Food is fine. The place is clean. But lines of people waiting to check out and three lanes open is it? Come on. To the lady working who stood talking to the other employee for 20 minutes while we waited in line and she watched us ... or the manager who doesn't see bottlenecks and make moves to keep things going, get it together. Maybe this is why the CEO was ousted. Because people don't know how to keep the place moving. More aisles open = more transactions = more sales.

Poor giant Eagle--selection is low compared to others, and prepared food tastes terrible for the price. I just skip the deli now--they're so slow and rude it's just not worth it. I can't wait until Wegman's finally pushes this garbage company out of the area.

I really wish they would go back to being open 24/7 with my work schedule sometimes it's hard to get to a store within the hours. I would go all hours of the night or around 5am sometimes. I've heard a lot of people wishing this store would go back to 24/7
