Today I had a disappointing and frankly disrespectful experience at Weis Market. I used the self-checkout to purchase cream cheese and Tostito chips, paid with cash, and received my receipt without issue. Moments later, an employee approached me without saying a word, grabbed my bag, and said, “That’s weird,” as if I had done something wrong.
I had to snatch my bag back and tell her clearly, “I pay cash for my stuff.” I shouldn’t have to justify myself just because I live in a town where people apparently aren’t used to seeing Black customers or folks who don’t use government assistance. The employee’s behavior was invasive, rude, and completely uncalled for.
This kind of treatment is unacceptable and speaks volumes about the lack of professionalism and training at this store. Everyone deserves to shop without being profiled or disrespected. Do better.

I use two locations. Mount Union and Huntingdon. I love them both. Huntingdon has Weis2go and I place our order online and pick it up. If I'm lucky to shop on a Tuesday I get the Senior discount.
