This is a great part of history in the steel industry. I never knew living around Pittsburgh my whole life that this place was the place that a battle once took place. The history of the battle is very interesting as well as the pump house that still stands there near where the battle took place to this day. There are plaques marking areas of interest where parts of history had happened years ago. It is a nice place for photography as well and a great place for a walk. Carrie furnace is also right across the river and there is a historic bridge to the left of the pump house. Carrie furnace is also a great part of American history.

A nice park. Free parking and you can walk your dogs at this site

It's kind of a cool setup. Nice view. Good location. Not very big. The "labyrinth" could have been cool if it had anything to do with a labyrinth, honestly huge let down.

Absolutely amazing venue. My cousin got married here. The setup was perfect. The views are beautiful! On a hot day, it would probably be better if the windows were able to be opened more and if more windows were open for full ventilation.

This is a great place to park on the GAP, if it is open and there is no event going on. If there is an event going on it is usually interesting and worth the visit but you won't be able to park and then ride your bike. Travel further down the road and you will find another place to park. Then continue your ride but be sure to visit the pump house event, you will be glad you did.

I'm the owner of Katherine's Daughter Events and we recently assisted a bride and groom here on their wedding day. This is a rustic, beautifully aged landmark. We thoroughly loved working with Stacey and her staff at Rivers of Steel. Here are a couple of suggestions for any bride/groom. There's no heat or A/C so depending on what time of year you choose, you need to think about the comfort level. It was a chilly, 60 degree day, but sunny so it was very nice for us. It was windy but that was fine, and we did turn on the heaters as the sun went down. They provided ample warmth indoors. If you love old bricks, windows and a gorgeous view, this is your place.

The Mon River has great historical significance for Pittsburgh with Steel Mills dotting the land all the way down and along the Ohio River. We must be proud of our histott

Excellent quick stop for a bit of history and a good view of the river. We enjoyed watching trainloads of coal cross the bridge while we were there. I would definitely recommend parking here for anyone who plans to use the GAP in this area. Easy access in and out from the parking lot here. I plan on using it for this purpose later in the year.

I enjoy riding my bicycle along the Trail and either taking a break at the Pump House or using it as my turn around point. I see quite a few others stopping by there as well, it's a nice spot. So far this year, I have yet to see the restrooms available, the main door is always locked. What is the issue with the restrooms?

I enjoy taking my lunch to their tables and benches so I can be outside and get away from my retail job in the waterfront. During the week, this is a nice place that offers solitude and a comfortable place to have lunch and wind down.

We like to start our daily walks here once in a while before we make a costco trip, or stop at TJ Maxx, etc. There is a little building, and a few info plaques and some sculptures. Not a lot to see at this particular place, but you can walk down a bit to the trail along the Mon and its a nice flat walk, sometimes with goats on the hill to look at.Mostly just a nice place to park and start a walk by the river.
