Like many other reviewers, I was completely let down by this credit union. I'm frankly amazed that they are solvent and still in business. I was a member from 2020 to late 2022. I had joined because we had moved from Michigan, where I had been a member of DFCU Financial (Dearborn Federal Credit Union) since 1978. DFCU is one of the best credit unions in the country, and this establishment is at the extreme other end of the spectrum. I joined Tri-Boro because they had a branch on Mosside Boulevard in Monroeville, close to our home in Trafford. In Fall 2022, the Monroeville branch closed with absolutely NO NOTICE to members. The way I found out it had closed was I went to the branch to use the ATM and the machine was gone and the space boarded up. They still had the signage above the building (this was finally removed some months later). So I had to drive to the main office in Munhall to close my accounts. The man who gave me the funds did not seem to care in the least that I was leaving their institution. He never asked me why I was leaving - just handed me my money like a robot. To demonstrate just how inept and uncaring these people are, I just went back to their website today (9/1/2023), and they STILL show Monroeville as an active branch, nearly a year after it closed!!! DO NOT join this establishment under any circumstances. And if you are still a member, GET OUT while you can still get your money!!

Very ignorant people who work here. They charged my account an extra payment, and no one seems to want to be held accountable there. Save your time and money, go somewhere else. Closing all my accounts here today. These people don't do good work. Extremely confusing and disorganized.

They closed the Monroeville branch with NO NOTICE WHATSOEVER. In fact, as of this writing (5/10/23), that branch still appears on their website. Now we have to drive to Munhall to close our accounts. Very unprofessional - do NOT recommend.

If 0 stars were an option, I’d give them that. Customer service is no help through the phone. If you are thinking about opening up an account with them, SIMPLY DO NOT. you’ll wish you would’ve taken your business elsewhere.

I’ve been using this credit union since I was 14. Never any problems and great service. Dunno why there are bad reviews. I switch jobs often and have never had any problem receiving my detect deposit after giving my employer a voided check.

Not good for having your pay for direct deposits. Not once but twice was my direct deposit canceled when my employer tried to deposit into my account. I was even given a letter from Triborough with my account information on it. I don’t understand this. I’m canceling this account I won’t let it get to the third Tim!

This bank is probably the worse bank i EVER had! Tell you when where and how you can spend your hard earn money . Want them to notify you when you are going out of town or trying to transfer money to a different account. Don’t let you take out large amounts at the bank! They are so controlling and i don’t recommend this bank to NOBODY.

Unnecessary in person meetings and a poor understanding of accepted safety procedures during covid has made me avoid this place. There's technology to solve this, but they choose not to implement it. I plan to be open to returning in several months.

When my wife and I went to Triborough bank we experienced the worst possible customer service that you could have in a bank. When we arrived to conduct our business at our scheduled time we knocked on the door and waited more than five minutes. When no one met us at the door I had to call them and let them know we were there for our appointment. A few minutes later this lady came out ( with no mask on), didn’teven greet us, looked at us like we were the biggest pain ever and asked us what we wanted. When we said what we wanted, she just pushed the door open and we walked in with no idea where to go. Finally some other employee asked us what we wanted and we got our business handled. Maybe Poor customer service is the norm in Pittsburgh but after that encounter I would never bank with this establishment.

Unfortunately, for me, everything was a hassle with Triboro - maintaining an account (hassle), getting a mortgage (no sense of urgency), and sharp fees.

Unfortunately, for me, everything was a hassle with Triboro - maintaining an account (hassle), getting a mortgage (no sense of urgency), and sharp fees. Their hours are 9-4pm M-F and closed weekends and you have to go there to get anything done, including signing up for online banking. So if you're busy, not the most convenient. When I started looking to buy a home, I opened a savings account with them (based on a friend's recommendation) to make me eligible for a mortgage . During the home-buying process they were initially my go-to for any opportunity that came up. But between the limited hours and the fact they have only one loan officer who is often out, sick, working from home etc. -- well bidding on houses is a competitive time-bound process. Imagine driving to the bank to get a mortgage estimate on a Friday afternoon, trying to put in an offer ASAP, and they tell you the mortgage officer left already and she'll be out Monday etc. Every other bank recommended by the broker was faster than Tri-boro and as competitive or better on interest rates and other terms and could provide what I needed without ever setting foot in a branch (and I wasn't even a member of those banks!). So I wound up getting a mortgage from a different bank and my $50 remained in my savings account - I figured, what harm can come. Maybe we'll use them for something in the future. After I moved into the new house, they start charging $10/mo. because I didn't change my address, and that then brings you below minimum and they charge you $2/mo. for that, then they say the account is delinquent and another $10/mo on top. So eventually, they're charging me $22/mo. on a $50 account for all these "good" reasons. Well, by the time I could get to the bank on a Monday afternoon to close it up, I had $6 left - not worth the drive :) That was my experience shared in case useful to someone.

If you long for a bank run by semi-educated yinzers that don't care at all about customer service, then Tri-Boro FCU is your jam. Call them sometime and discuss their services and you'll see how it looks when a business is truly uninterested in having you as a customer.

Y'll are a piece of garbage. Don't open account with them. They like to steal money.
