“I cannot say enough about the amazing service and help from McDowell repair! On 7/8/24 I was driving along I-80 all the way from Colorado when my Jeep began overheating out of nowhere. I've done the drive from NY to CO with the same car about 5 times over the span of ~2 years so something was bound to happen to my 2013 Jeep GC, but was not expecting it when I was only 4.5 hours away from NY, no AAA or road side assistance included in my insurance (I know..), and having been just fine for the past 24 hours of driving. Luckily, I was near this exit and was able to move off the road, but was afraid of continuing to drive after seeing smoke and leakage under the hood. Drew and a helper were amazing and drove up the road to me to refill anti-freeze where he diagnosed the issue being the radiator busted/leaking. The anti-freeze helped get my Jeep to the shop that was still about 4 mi away and we were back on the road with a new radiator in under 3 hours and less than $400! I also want to add, all while it was 99º, the Monday after a holiday, and also with my 80lb 5 y/o pup, which they treated so well and offered water and peanut butter (thanks again, Lee)! They were fast, efficient, kind, and professional! I hope that if I ever break down again or need auto care/maintenance, that I end up at McDowell's again :) THANK YOU!!!”

“Nick Murarik also has a computer shop operated out of there, where he will fix your computer for you. Technical issues? Viruses? He can fix it all. I had a major problem with my laptop, he squared my computer away QUICKLY, (within 3 business days). That's not a guarantee, but other people told me 6-8 weeks. Reasonable prices also!! DEFINITELY recommend.”

“I find Segers to be the best place for heavy duty radiator service. They have bailed us out more than once and were very responsive to our needs. I live 3 hours away and am glad to drive there for their service. They even worked on one of our radiators over a weekend when we were in a time crunch. When we took our tractor truck to them with radiator leak a few years ago and they made us aware of an upcoming problem in engine that was not even radiator related and then fixed that issue too. They are busy, busy and the good ones always are. Hats off to them!”

I called 10-12 larger body shops in and around the State College area and many were booked for several weeks, and in some cases, 3+ months but Michael was able to get us in immediately after a deer strike inflicted significant damage to the front end of our Subaru Outback. Michael did amazing work and got us in and out in only two weeks, long before other shops could even consider working on our vehicle.His work looks amazing and I definitely recommend him to others. “Sorry it took me so long to review. I want to say thank you to the two young gentleman that was working on the night of January 7th. I had a bad scary fall. The closest place I could get help as I was in pain and bleeding and without shoes. I lost them in the fall. I walks in and immediately they were helpful. They were obviously confused. Who wouldn't be when a lady walked in like she just lost a fist fight lol. But after they realize I was hurt and asked for them to call me an ambulance. They jumped in to action and got me a chair to sit in and got me some paper towels for my bleeding head. They called me an ambulance and calmed Me down. They did the best they could. I would imagine they were confused and shocked. But they handled things appropriately. I ended up with a severely broken wrist that needed surgery and a broken nose. I was in the hospital for several days. I want to say thank you to these young men. I would like to meet them in person. But sadly I didn't get the names. They deserve some recognition. Only one tip is you need to have first aid training. Just so employees know what to do when a clumsy me walks in the store needing help. A+ for handling me and the customers appropriately that evening.”
