Not lgbt friendly. If your kids are in a phase of their lives where they are exploring avenues, do not send them here. My child comes home crying and shaking each time talking about how the staff will gang up on them and harass them til they cry. My child does not feel safe here, not sure why I pay the fees. Warning to all parents who may have a rainbow child, they are not safe here.

Not very family friendly. Took my wife and 3yr old to the pool, no other kids were there. This happened to be the first time there. We constantly got screamed at but an elderly lifeguard named Bruce to be quite or leave, even telling my wife she should learn to raise a well behaved child. She was so embarrassed we left and asked to speak to management. The aquatics director I spoke with apologized but went on to say she couldn't guarantee that their lifeguards wouldn't act in such a manner. I asked for a refund minus the trip we just went in for and was denied. According to the terms under no circumstances is a refund to be issued, go figure.

There are definitely earmarks of racism in common practice at this location

I just wish they would put money back into the building. The ceiling of the pool area is disgusting. Just look up at it when you visit the Sauna, Steamroom, Pool etc. The floor of the men's locker room and pool need to be replaced years ago. Half the lockers in the men's room are rusted out and don't work.the mirror really needs replaced in the mens room too! Do those four things and the place wouldn't be bad. If you really wanna do it right paint the floor and walls of the pool as well. Everything else look OK. Find yourself a GRANT WRITER and get on the ball. With the above I just mentioned it really makes things look unhealthy.

I arrived to begin a membership at the Beaver YMCA. Upon my first time arriving, I was offered a tour of the facility. A woman showed me around reluctantly. At the end of the tour, the woman turns and looks at me and says “and just so you know, we like to cover up here.” Insinuating that my outfit was inappropriate or something. I was not wearing anything promiscuous. I was wearing pants and a “shorter” top. One might also consider it to be a crop top. It was not offensive at all, I don’t even think my belly button was showing. We are talking minimal to NO skin showing on my midriff. It was also snowing and cold outside, so I was pretty covered up. I was taken back by her response and simply stated “okay”. I did not pitch a fight, just let it go. I also observed many other women in the facility wearing way less modest clothing than myself. I love this ymca but that interaction was not a great first impression of the Beaver YMCA. I will never forget how that woman treated me. I have been to numerous other YMCA’s in the area such as Butler, Cranberry, Grove City, and Natrona Heights, etc. I never had any sort of issues at those facilities because of what I chose to wear. I know that the YMCA has some sort of dress code but if they plan to heavily enforce it, then there should be a sign promoting the specific dress code they are expecting us to wear.

I'm here several days a week to swim. I need the water to continue to exercise for to health. I'm disappointed that the facility isn't as clean as it used to be. Pool deck needs a good scrubbing. The hot tub walls appear dirty. People continuously are going straight from the sauna and steam room to the pools or hot tub without showering off between. (And yes, I've brought it to the attention of the front desk) I was surprised when I saw the new plans to change the facility. I was equally surprised they didn't freshen paint and deep clean the pools over COVID. I realize that staffing is an issue but the facility was closed for a period during the pandemic. I feel like it was a missed opportunity. Really hope they freshen everything up with the new facility plans

Terrible. Been here 3 weeks in a row, Wednesday nights, and the therapy pool has been closed each time. This week it was open when we arrived, but the teenager life guard that was here had to go home, so they closed it early. Asked another staff member, and they said "sorry we're short staffed". Will not be returning or renewing our membership after child's swim lessons are over. IF YOU POST A SCHEDULE - FIGURE OUT HOW TO MAKE IT WORK!

The hours are bad enough already and now they close the pool because they refuse to pay a high enough wage to keep life guards on staff. Why do I need a life guard to use the sauna? Instead of throwing everyone off their routine, why not put a sign up saying to swim at your own risk like other places do. Why don't you pay a fair wage to your life guards? Where are our membership fees going if not to maintain a decent facility? So many questions but no manager was there so I couldn't ask.

Used to be better here. The pool is often closed when I go. Now I have to call every time to ask if it's open. Minor inconvenience I guess

I have sent both of my kids to their daycare and summer camp programs for the past 5 years. Just like any business the faces change sometimes and new people come in. The constant has always been a system of professionalism and care that promotes an excellent environment.
