The owner told me I was rude saying I wanted a refund to go elsewhere because I no longer trusted them. I had trusted this salon to both mine and my daughters' hair so thought nothing when I went for my newest cut and color. I have text messages between myself and my stylist with her saying it was no problem to go from blue to brown. There was a problem. After bleaching it for an hour and the blue not fading at all she went ahead to tint it and the put the brown on. The owner of the salon was there when the stylist said to her the brown "did not take" and the blue was showing through. Only it was not blue/turquoise but rather green. The owner commented " well, at least it will not bleed anymore since it has been bleached." It is a swampy green. More later on this. I asked for a shorter cut and showed the picture how it was cut in the summer which was like a really short "bob". Instead she cut the one side to an inch long (when dry it sticks up like a cowlick). The other side she asked if I wanted long to which I said yes, but wanted it angled, starting at the bottom of my cheek. When she was cutting over the ear she said she hates ears and has said as much since day 3 at beauty school. She kept cutting it shorter and shorter. The hair barely touches the TOP of the ear on the long side. I was in tears. It looks like a man's cut. Owner had left but told stylist to send a picture when it was done, which she did not. I was in tears in the chair. Stylist told me it would be fine and that my hair would grow about 1/2 inch per month. I left in tears after paying, which the stylist told me to message them when I wanted highlights as I was leaving. I immediately messaged them and the salon owner telling them I would not be back and it was the worst color and cut I have ever had. Owner asked me back today so they could see what could be done. She kept insisting on fixing the color, saying the cut was fine. It's crooked, uneven, way too short, sticks up, etc. She brought another stylist up who said the first stylist did everything right and they both insisted this would have been explained to me ahead of time that the blue was hard to get out and would most likely turn green. They did not. I have the messages. I said I would have opted for another option had I been told even if they said it needed to go darker, possible even blue black which I then realized I would not be able to go lighter later and would be too dark for me. The owner offered to redye it BLUE on the ends. That is not what I want. They both kept insisting the short hair looks good on me. When I commented it was not how I explained it and how she was having trouble on the ear, both said that she must have been having trouble angling it. There are pieces on the "short side" that are as long as the long side and the response I got was to just flip it over. The back is supposed to be shaved and it is just shaved in the middle with longer sides in the back. Owner told me they would reschedule me with the initial stylist. I do not trust her anymore and said as much. I went to other places and asked how to fix my hair and each place thought I had box dyed it myself. The could not believe I had it professionally done and was allowed to leave a salon as it was. I was explained the way they would fix the green and told of ways to fix the cut. I asked Chameleon's for a refund and was told my only option is to go in and let a different stylist at their salon TRY to fix it. I said I am not comfortable with that and was told I can do that or nothing and she doesn't even have to offer me the option to fix it. I am not comfortable sitting for 4 hours at a place that insists everything looks fine when it obviously does not, especially when the owner saw it was not correct and did not suggest to the stylist there was an issue last night and who was there when I told the stylist how to cut the hair and then saw she did not.

I've been getting my hair colored, highlighted and cut at Chameleon's for several years. I get a great cut and color, terrific people, very reasonable prices, and located right on the North Hill.

I received services from Chameleons Hair Salon on 2/21/23 and 4/1/23. This was my experience:On 2/21 I went in to see Amanda for a consultation. I had previously had a not great salon experience, and been double bleached and dyed a very bright red. I had waited for it to fade and grow out for nearly 6 months. Coming to the consult, I was nervous and embarrassed by the state of my hair. From the jump, Amanda was personable, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. Not only did I feel genuinely listened to about my concerns and expectations, but she went above and beyond to clearly communicate her professional opinion and what the next steps would be, and she helped prep my hair by giving me a trim and shaping my face with framing layers. I left feeling secure in having her as my hairdresser.On 4/1, I met with Amanda again for a color correction. She was extremely accommodating and I was, for the first time in a long time, excited to have my hair done. The consult had allowed me to have the utmost trust in Amanda for this appointment. Just like in the consult, she was so, so friendly that I felt truly comfortable. She outlined the appointment, from showing me the colors she would be using to explaining the process to letting me know the expected timeframe this would take. Throughout the entire appointment, Amanda was attentive to my comfort while processing, and when she revealed the color while drying my hair, I was absolutely awestruck. It was EXACTLY what I had pictured. I couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was. For the rest of the appointment and the rest of the day, my cheeks hurt from how hard I smiled. I left feeling beautiful and confident, and immediately marked in my calendar for when I was advised I would need to come back.I cannot recommend Chameleons Hair Salon enough. I cannot recommend Amanda enough. Her professionalism and experience speaks for itself. if you're looking for high quality hair coloring and phenomenal customer service with lovely and caring staff, this is the place to go. They've definitely just made a regular out of me.Services: Hairstyling

I love this salon! I drive all the from Pittsburgh just to see Kayla! She always does my hair perfect. I couldn’t imagine anyone else doing my hair ever again. If you’re looking to start going to Chameleons I highly recommend Kayla!

I was cancelled on twice by Kayla. First her boss scheduled me with her and she messaged me via Instagram saying she can’t she’s going out of town. We rescheduled again and she told me “idk if your kids will be in school or not but because of covid we don’t allow kids” I told her that’s no issue. She then tells me we are still on for Black Friday. Messages me last minute on Instagram (which I never check) and said sorry I was exposed to covid. Funny on Black Friday right? it’s unprofessional. She was exposed to covid and cancelled my appointment but was at work the next day posting pics of her clients hair she just did. I won’t be going there. Never even got a chance to go… but I turned my head completely after seeing she’s working the next day after cancelling mine. Someone else can have my business
