I have been going to Valos since I was a little girl. It has always been our favorite candy shop. We moved an hour away and for my moms birthday, I thought I would place an order for strawberries and get a box of mixed chocolates. After driving an hour and being 8 months pregnant, the ladies told me they placed my pick up date for the wrong date. They were not nice at all. They offered no kind of sympathy or compensation what so ever. I had nothing to give my mother on her birthday. I cried the entire way home. I think I mostly feel so heart broken that my childhood favorite candy store had let me down.

Valos Chocolates has been in business since the 1940s, although I had not heard of it until very recently. They sell several dozen types of chocolates. I bought the raisin clusters, chocolate-covered Oreo, mint meltaway, chocolate-covered pretzels, pecan turtle, and peanut butter meltaway. All of these chocolates tasted delicious. I thought that the prices were very reasonable. Customers may shop at the store or through their website. The store can ship same-day for next-day delivery. They also sell their chocolates in some grocery stores, pharmacies, and flower shops.

Very nice chocolates. I never knew this place existed! Valos also sells their chocolates in some Giant Eagles (like the one in Verona). It's not too expensive and definitely quite high quality. I tried out their caramel coated in milk chocolate and solid milk chocolate candy made without sugar. For a sugar free candy, this one was very good! Yes, you can definitely tell it's not the same as a regular chocolate made with tons of sugar, but it's 80% there. I'm glad they make items like this for those who are more health-conscious (its only 130 calories for a decent sized chocolate, and it will satisfy your sweet tooth). The texture is a bit tough but still very good.I also really liked the caramel chocolates. This was a thick candy and also had a pretty decent price. The milk chocolate tasted perfect. Creamy, sweet, melts in your mouth. And they use loads of caramel (which does make it a bit tough to eat. Also, this caramel isn't like Sarris where it oozes out when you open the chocolate; it's quite solid). It will surely satisfy and caramel craving you have. All in all, nice to have a great chocolatier like this in New Kensington. You could even find some of their candies in local shops, like Verona Giant Eagle. Great quality and decent prices!

Fellow Yelpers, thank you very much for your reviews of Valos Candy, so I would know to try the business myself. :) Valos Candy was founded in 1947. It sells mostly chocolates, including boxed chocolates, chocolate bars, chocolate-covered pretzels, bark, sugar-free chocolate, and many other flavors of chocolates. Yesterday, I visited this business's website, and I ordered several types of chocolates. Today (yes, only one day later!), the packaged was delivered to me via the USPS. The shipping and delivery were very fast and cost only $8. Here are my reviews for the chocolates that I ordered: Raisin clusters - 4.5 stars - $11.49 for 7 ounces - These raisin clusters taste like fancy Raisinets. My husband thought that they should have a stronger flavor of raisins, but they did contain many raisins, and I enjoyed the flavor. On the box, I noticed that the font for the name "Valos" looks like "Valor". Holiday chocolate-covered Oreo - 5 stars - $1.39 - The Oreo cookie was very fresh, the milk chocolate tasted very good, and the colorful sprinkles looked pretty. Mint meltaway - 4.5 stars - $1.69 - Mint is not my favorite flavor, but I liked this candy. I felt surprised that the center was solid and that the chocolate and mint were very mixed together. Pecan turtle - 5 stars - $2 - This pecan turtle contained fresh milk chocolate and pecans and wonderfully gooey caramel. Peanut butter meltaway - 5 stars - $2 - I liked the flavors of the milk chocolate and the peanut butter center. Holiday mini pretzels - 5 stars - $1.79 - I really enjoyed the combined flavors of the milk chocolate and the salty pretzels. Please note that Valos Candy's products are sold not only in their store and on their website but also at Giant Eagle grocery stores and even in some pharmacies and flower shops.
