About Humble Stitch
Humble Stitch is a fantastic quilt shop and an absolute gem located in a historic downtown Newport building, a repurposed old tavern on the square. It is a crafter's dream and a premier fabric store and fiber arts destination. The shop offers a surprising and well-curated selection, like a huge library of yarn, patterns, fabric, threads, tools, and many other fiber arts materials. There is so much fabric and yarn with something for every textile craft including knit, crochet, embroidery, and sewing.
The owner and staff are wonderful, extremely helpful, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and passionate. They offer friendly advice, share expertise, and assist in finding supplies. The atmosphere is really cool and relaxing, making customers feel right at home. The shop features a huge bar that now serves as the checkout counter. It offers classes and has entrances on both sides of the building, including handicapped accessible. It is open late on Thursdays and Fridays and has great weekend hours, making it a must-stop shopping trip so locals do not need to drive to other towns.

My wife likes it. Not a ton of selection as a knitter and crocheter but what they had is nice.

I’m so impressed by the packaging and how quickly my order arrived despite me being on the other side of the country. I’m so grateful this shop had the yarn I needed to finish a project, especially because it was sold out on a large retailer’s site. Small business for the win :)

What a wonderful, historic shop!!! The owner is so nice and engaging. Very nice selection of fabric and notions, with an emphasis on vintage. The shop is so inviting, my wife and I coukd have sat down and spent the entire afternoon here!
